Whenever the party tries to sleep in an inn, throw loud raucous parties that keep them up all night.

Whenever the party tries to buy a magic item, kill the person who's supposed to sell it to them so the party never gets new items.  Or kill the person who did sell the item and make sure word gets around, so no one will sell to the party.

Hire the town drunk to put "the moves" on someone in the party.

Frame the party.

Start nasty rumors about the party.

Use "Bestow Curse" on waiters so the waiters don't notice the party.

Raise the dead on any big bad the party just killed.

Take the credit for any big bad the party just killed.

Slip drugs into the party's food/drink.

I think one key way of limiting it is the "half HD/Levels" part.  But that requires doing a Savage Species progression of whatever it is the player duplicates.

IIRC, when you dual-classed, you were only about 1 level lower than someone who didn't dual-class.  E.g. you could be cleric-7/wizard-7 when someone else was wizard-8.  Kind of like playing a gestalt instead of non-gestalt.

You probably already have them, but the DMG 3.5 has some tables in it too.
p 44 - One Hundred Adventure Ideas
p 78 - Random Door Types
p 82 - Random Traps by CR level
p 94 - Random Weather
p 129 - One Hundred Traits

I used to use the one hundred traits table a lot when I had an unexpected need for a talkative NPC.  Helped me not to fall into default NPC mode where they all have the same personality.

And let's not forgot the old mixing potions table from D&D 1.0(?)

On a related note, if you google "wayback machine", it takes you to https://archive.org/web but if you use the url www.archive.org it takes you to a different page.  The first seems to only take you back to 2014, the second takes you way back.

MIC, p15, has a shield ability called "Variable"

So if I understand things correctly, you could have your shield as a buckler and use the sword two-handed, and use a swift action to convert it to/from bashing shield size and using the sword one-handed.  You won't actually have to take the shield on and off.

How about a Glove of Storing?  Storing and retrieving the shield would be a free action.  I think there's a similar but better item in the MIC.

That math has to be wrong, as you could easily grow several stalks in that area, and even one ear of corn has to be more than e-7 servings.

Spell Area = pi * r^2 = 3.14 * 25 * 25 = 1962.5 sqft

1962.5 / 43,560 * 297.6 = 13.4 servings
