SyFy is showing the D&D Movie - The Book Of Vile Darkness on Sat, Nov 24, 9pm eastern.

Is it worth watching?

Looks to be on par with production values for Wrath of the Dragon God, which is low, but the content looks at least authentic to D&D. More non-humans this time. (A goliath and a shadar-kai? This is 4e, obviously, but hey, don't knock it before you see it.) I'm curious, at least.

The reviews I saw were pretty good from D&D players (and abominable from non-D&D players). In general, it was reviewed more favorably than the first two movies.

Opening narration + illustrations, drew me in.

Thing about the music

... I didn't know they
had synthesizers in BoVD ; but they are vile.

The archaic stringed instrument the town/bar idiot
was playing in the "recruit" scene, was almost the
exact same as the one, at the town the Dragon
stole the people from.
Can you say: Bard max Disguise + Teleport, yes ?!
... or maybe a fallen Archon !!

Fire Fighters (with a hint of Pyromaniac) love Shadar-Kai wimmins.

Yeah, I like all the various references to
specific D&D material ... but it's easy to
assume non-d&d-ers had no idea at all
what the "fluff" was going on.
