The old orc grunts. "I am old Yarrack." He shouts in orcish to the other orcs to bring the prisoners in cages and the orcs rush off to obey. "Wark, Tark, and Morgh have seen the dragon at night it has been careful not to be spotted, it's probably lairing in the area. Dunno what color it is, you could ask them but,... you fought your way through them. Anyway it's a dragon smarter to just avoid it."

The orcs drag out two humans and a halfling in small cages, the dirtty men dressed in rags and unkempt look at you fearfully.

Oh please Yondalla.." prays one of the men in a fearful whisper.

After you deal with the prisoners Yarrack leads you to Ulfe's room. A short flight of stairs leads up to a large, ironbound door. A bloodstained orc skull is fixed to the center of the door by an iron spike. You can hear the wolves snarling behind the door.

Yeah... do you get limited castings per day? Or can you spam them? (I don't have time to look at the class...)

I'm torn on what to take for my next level. Is the generic Expert OK? +2d6 sneak attack is pretty appealing... (given how much homebrew we're using, I assumed it was and went ahead and leveled up)

Generic expert is OK, though in not sure why changing into a raven is not more tempting.

Actually this might be a good point to discuss what is working and what is not and what feels unbalanced.

Anyway I'm exhausted, no update tonight and tomorrow in traveling back. So yeah probably Tuesday.

Sadly it looks like Liara has decided to drop out of the game. So azumi will be taking over as queen of the orcs and stay behind.

@Catty: I forgot if you go with fractional progressions for BAB and saves. Just to confirm as I'll update my sheet if you do use fractions. Also, where is the secret passage Loot found up there?

So far you are the only one multiclassing, so let's go with fractions.

The passage connects to room 14. You could have bypassed their main defence and taken their women and children hostage. But eh. The orcs didn't know it and it needed a DC 23 search check to be found, which I think loot just made

((Resolving the encounter with the orcs is enough that everyone gains a level you are now level 4. The bellow is a bit rushed but oh well.))

It takes a bit as the orcs are still warry of you but they respect your strength. Great Ulfe's room was in room 12, the orcs believe it to be traped and Ulfe has a pair of pet wolves in there. Since Nordar made the Gather Info check you have the first opportunity to loot. Room 10 has striges and a fire trap, it also leads down to an area occupied by troglodytes, there is also a droop to the north in room 10 that the orcs have never managed to open thanks to the fire-trap. Room 14 is where the orcs holed up their wives and orklings while they where fighting, and in room 6 there is a pair of humans and a halfling kept prisoner for ransom.

The orcs discuss cooking the halfling to make candy for Enar.

The Orcs have seen a draon occasionaly flying around at night but they don't know where it lairs.

aww thanks for the votes of confidence. I'll try to live up to them.

Also Pearl of Black Doubt is way too hard to keep track off, so rejoice great ulfe is probably the last enemy to use that stance for a while.

As noted earlier I'm going to be traveling so I might not be able to update over the next couple of days, possibly till Tuesday, though I will do my best to give updates.

The old orc manages to hit Azumi for 5 damage, which seems to revitalize him and heal his wounds, though their victory is short lived.

Great Ulfe looks down almost surprised at the few splinters that remain of his weapon before slowly collapsing, dead from the many attacks, even his tough body not being able to withstand that much.

The witch shouts something (Nordar identifies it as yield.) and the orcs begins to pull back. They look on the verse of breaking, spears wavering, when the old orc shouts in accented common. "We yield, victory is yours, the mountain is yours by right of conquest."

((What do you do?))

Gazien I'm pretty sure doing those follow-up attacks is an full round action, not an AoO. I'll just use the first attack. If I'm wrong just correct me in OOC :p
Oh yeah everything except the marked AoO was a full-round action.

I had thought it was our turn again and combined everything. Whoops.

Oh it is fine I can use it as your turn. Sorry for being unclear.

The potion is one of lesser restoration, the passage Loot is in now is strange, it takes him a moment to realize why, unlike the passages invested by orcs there is no junk here, just a layer of dust. This passage way probably has sat undisturbed since the dwarves lost the mountain.

51
Despite the heavy blows from the heroes suroundign him Ulfe manages to stand up, towering over the adventurers, as he flourishes his weapon and stikes at Azumi, catching her flat footed but the blow harmlessly bounces of her armor. (People can finish their AoO against him before doing their regular turn.)

The orc witch casts at Morjhan, and he feels the magic constricting around him. (Hold Person, DC 14)

The other orcs charge if they can the rear ones using longspears while the ones in front use axes and shields, but their attacks all miss.

Loot meanwhile has found 2gp, a potion, and a secret door. (loot can try to appraise the potion to figure out what it is.)

Hmm when standing up from prone when are the AoO's resolved? before or after the prone condition goes away? My instinct is to say before, but I want a second opinion.

Great Ulfe tries to get up provoking attacks of oppertinuty from everyone.

(I'll do the rest of the orcs tonight)

55
Great Ulfe roars in rage as he is entangled and swipes at the opening Hjalmur left only to miss, taking several mighty hits.

Quick question do people prefer me rolling in thread like I tried to do for the ogre, or are people fine with me mostly rolling real dice (which is definetly faster and more convenient for me.)

57
Morjhan wisely steps aside as the ogre flies through the air and lands badly.

Ulfe bellows in rage before his landing knocks the wind out of him.

58
The Ogre booms out: "I am the Great Ulfe, and for invading my mountain I will deal with you personaly. Be honored."

59
Hjalmur jerks awake at Azumi's action, though he is still prone.
Loot is finding some loot in the archers gallery.

The Orge looks at the downed Urskan for a moment, trying to time his attack perfectly. (attack is vs touch AC) Bringing his large heavy greathammer down on the rising Urskan with a resounding crash. This dice roll has been tampered with!
Rolled 1d20+4 : 12 + 4, total 16 atk,
Rolled 3d6+5 : 3, 4, 3 + 5, total 15
dmg (remember the -4 to AC for being prone, the -6 to his attack for being in Azumi's threatened area has been applied.)

The orcs charging after the ogre slow down and ready their weapons, while the witch cackles and makes more arcane gestures. (Azumi save vs cause fear, DC 14) The old orc is still watching Enar entranced.

((if anyone has martial lore as a trained skill they can try to identify the manuvers and stances used.))

Enar's icon:

Also my objective for flirtation would be to keep the orcs distracted until all of the party has crossed the bridge. So, hmm, don't provoke the orcs until everybody is in position? :blush

That image is corrupt and not loading in the map. it's the same with anything I download from photobucket, shows up fine in the browser won't work as a download. I'll just assign you an image for now.
