As some of you may know I recently went in for surgery. I had a small precancerous mass and needed a resection done. It was expected to be fairly routine, and take maybe 2 hours.
I was on the table for 6 and required a blood transfusion. My colon had adhered to my spleen and needed to be separated...and there was a second mass that had gone unnoticed next to the first. It was a carcinoma. I then caught pneumonia. And a violent lunatic went off on a rampage in the ICU and had to be arrested.
Glad to be back :D

Yeouch. Welcome back, Bhu.
My dad had skin cancer once. Just a small bit of surgery to remove the tiny patch that was a problem. It all went well, no issues since, but it was still spooky times. I can only imagine how much worse it must have been for you with something internal, and then for complications on top of that.
-
Damn! I'm glad it was caught sooner rather than later. I hope your recovery goes well.
-
Wow, that's some hard stuff to happen.
Glad you're OK ... reroll on the death save succeeds.
... bhu u should post 4 more times and then just wait until the migration. You're so close to 13337 ...
And perfect :hmm timing.
-
I'm glad you're still alive!
-
Welcome back, bhu! :clap
-
Great to hear everything ended up fine with Bhu's operation. :)
-
glad you lived...
also glad you took your luck back from me :D
-
Thanks guys, it's good to see you all again.
The high point was the crazy guy visiting. Looking back I should have been terrified because he could have killed us all, but maybe it was the painkillers.
They admitted an old man from ER
who went belligerent when they tried to give meds to him. It started off with insults, misogyny and screaming, and quickly segued into him throwing stuff at nurses, destruction of property and barricading himself in a room. My favorite moment was him telling a cop "If you knew how to stand tall and wrap a shovel around your ass, you'd know what it means to be a real man." what the hell does that even mean?
-
I think it means his dick moves a lot a shit.
Also I'm glad you're OK.

It means he's crazy as a loon, that's what. :D
Glad to hear you are OK.

Just got news pathology report is only partly done. When they remove colon cancer they remove all nearby lymph nodes as well in case the cancer has progressed to them, and they haven't biopsied them yet, so I may still need chemo.
Fuck.
-
Ouch.
I went to the local Pink Zone game for breast cancer awareness.
The woman next to me was ultra Type-A personality.
Go go go, this is so annoying, I have cancer, but I have a life, I've got things to do, I had to go to Radiation for like 15 minutes everyday for a whole 2 weeks, it was so annoying, do you feel how annoyed I am, I still had to do everything else ... etc
This continued throughout the game.
Radiation might do it, and is cake-ish quality of life, compared to Chemo ... IFF you have the option.
... but maybe it was the painkillers.
They admitted an old man from ER ...
Are you sure it wasn't the other way around ?
;)
I just watched Legion last night, so I don't know what's real and what's "real" quite yet ; fun dreams tho'.

Good to have bhu back, bhu!
Don't have anymore cancer, k? Just knock that shit right off!
-
Tests say lymph nodes should be clear, cancer was stage 1, genetic tests for predisposition also negative. Will prolly not need chemo, but will be seeing Oncologsist as a precaution (cause apparently they're still doing tests of some kind).
-
That's fantastic! :clap
-
Damn right! You just keep on doin' what I tol' you!
That really is great bhu! Keep it up.
-
good to hear. there is so much more kitty-ness that you need to unleash upon the world yet.
-
Whew that's good news , gotta be a relief.
-
It sort of is. But I'm still having issues with bone-crushing fatigue. It's like I have really horrid flu without the phlegm and coughing.
-
Did they do a PET scan?
-
Did they do a PET scan?
Not yet. I get stitches, tubes and sutures removed in 2 weeks, after which surgeon thinks I'll be ok to see Oncologist and do testing. He said they might wanna do barium enema, and with my guts torn up like they are now that would be bad idea.
-
If the margins were clean on the resection and the nearby lymph nodes were also checked, they might not do one... But if it were me, I'd push the oncologist for it.
-
Whoa, that's some heavy stuff! Glad it got caught before you had even worse problems, and definitely glad you're back!

For some reason I'm not surprised (given Bhu + Bhu's avatar) that a "Pet" Scan would be in the offing ... nor the Bolded part.

What about a....CAT scan.... :flutter

More bad news. They found a lump under my right armpit today. I have a week for antibiotics to get rid of it, otherwise its back to surgeon for biopsy.
-
bhu! Whad I tell you?! I said to knock that shit off!
(Best of luck dude; I hope the antibiotics work)
-
antibiotics were a no go, biopsy imminent

Damnit Bhu. Your mutant superpowers of Wolverine regeneration are malfunctioning again.

... speaking of which, this may mean that a secret government agency "took" part of Bhu to make a Bhu-Junior at least as ornery (and/or screamy) as the original.
That's right folks, Bhu's a daddy he just had no idea, neither did anyone else. Now for the sequel ...
-
Today was fun.
Surgeon had hard time finding the target for biopsy so Im getting a cat scan now.
He also removed my stay sutures, which the skin had begun to grow over and bond too...
So there's one tee shirt I prolly won't wear in public again...
-
Im getting a cat scan now.
Did they find any cats? Were they cute?
-
I gotta wait for it to be scheduled cause they need permission from insurance. Plus i cant take my metformin the data of test or the contrast fluid will shut off my kidneys.
-
You're going through a lot, bhu. I really hope things will pick up for you soon, but while we wait, have my best wishes! You'll soldier through and get a good story to tell in the future!
-
As always, I have plenty of faith that Unca Kitty will survive this, just as he does all the other crap life throws at him, cuz he's just that awesome. :D
Be well, buddy.
-
No chemo for me. But apparently I have 'microcytic hypochromic anemia' aand no one told me.
wtf
-
You've lost blood. That's about all that means. Eat some meat. :D
-

my diet is 70% meat now...
-
Blood work came back good, anemia is gone, cat scan found no bad lymph nodes.
But it did find a mass in my upper left abdomen the oncologist can't identify. So a PET scan is imminent :(

Not all the news was bad at least! Good luck with the PET scan and take care!
-
Good news: Unidentified mass turns out to be clump of fibrous tissue that happened after my surgery (which the reviewing radiologist didn't know about). May still get PET scan for cya purposes.
Bad news: I most definitely have Parkinson's disease.
-
Whew, good on the good news.
Long term suckitude on the bad news.
-
cool / sucks...
but really, those diagnosis are shaky at best :D

Fuck. That sucks on so many levels...
Try to keep your brain active, like at all times, man. That tends to slow it down...
-
Very interesting! Glad you recovered!
