A weird one: Cyrite from PGtE (p 117) is listed as a special material, but implies (when describing the Hardness and HP of the material) that it's a modification you can make to a given metal (which gives you a +1 resistance bonus to saves vs. spells and SLAs for armor and shields, or allows you to bypass DR/magic on weapons). It's pretty cheap for weapons, too - 250gp is very affordable.

A Dwarvencraft Cyrite weapon actually compares quite favorably with a more standard +1 weapon - it's a bit more durable, has the same bonus to attack rolls, and doesn't have a magical aura. Plus, it only costs 850gp over the normal cost of the weapon - that's an absolute steal.

Also from PGtE, on page 23 there is the Bloodtouched Rite, a ritual that the Blood of Vol performs for people who have impressed them. You drink a bunch of blood, permanently lose 2 Con, and gain the following:

+Cha to your HP.
A +2 Profane bonus to saves vs.  a lot of things.
+1 to your CL for Necromancy.
+1 to your effective Cleric level for Rebuking.

These benefits are free (I mean, you lose the benefits if you get rid of your Con score, but still). If you're in an E6 game, you might not even notice the drawback if your Charisma is high enough.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and I just noticed something about the Beauty's Bounty feat from the old Fey web enhancement. It gives you +1 HP for each point of Permanent Charisma you gain. It's still pretty crappy, but it's a bit interesting.

So, I might need to go pay the German Consulate a visit to waive an inheritance.

I'm right-handed - I'm not coordinated enough to do anything neat with my left hand, sadly.

Unless I wrote her poorly, the +0/+1 for having counters on her is state based as well.
Yeah you're right, the way it's written applies to everything irregardless of zone. Just off on the Unleashed vs Persist deal.

Still, the card reminds me of something you'd see in an article that didn't make the cut. Maybe.
Flying, Unleash.
{cardname} gets +0/+1 for each counter on it and when {cardname} attacks, it gets +1/+0 for each counter on it.
When {cardname} is put into the graveyard from the battlefield, return it to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step.

That'll clear up any confusion, beside you already have choices of 0:Regenerate or Indestructible for "immorality". What you're wanting is the continuing choice to use Unleash or not and that should do it since Unleash triggers when it's put into the battlefield.

Actually, come to think of it...

What if I replaced Persist with Undying? Essentially, you're going to want to hold off on the Unleashed until it's died - because it comes back pissed off.

Unless I wrote her poorly, the +0/+1 for having counters on her is state based as well - she'd come back as a 0/1. Then she gets the +1/+1 from Unleashed, which removes it, leaving her as a 1/1 with no counters on her.

But yeah, the bit that makes her special is the interaction with stuff like Populate or those cards with specialized counters (like Sensei Golden-Tail or That Which Was Taken). But you're right - I should playtest.

The original idea was a 1/1 that got +1/+1 for each counter on it. It morphed into Lara up there.

She can't be killed through -1/-1 counters, Unleash and Persist combo to make her recur all day, and she's evasive.

She might be undercosted.

Looks like I'm late to the party!

It looks like the Half-Orc Barbarian has gotten some really brutal support.  Orcish Aggression makes them absurdly mobile, and Orcish Fury is just a really solid racial feature upgrade.

Seriously, throw in one of the old weapon feats, and you've got a build on your hands.

Go on. Ask me about my current job and housing situation. I'm perfectly happy with it.

I certainly don't regret some decisions I've made. Or the fact that I have 23 more months to look forward to.

I done fucked up, folks.

Performer is hilarious to me, since it doesn't specify that you can't use it in combat.

Not that it's effective to use it in combat, just that it's funny.

I'm kind of interested in Historian in conjunction with the Mastermind Rogue.

Eh, I'd let it work at my table. It's the kind of cleverness that I like to encourage.

A couple more (I couldn't find good images for them, but c'est la vie):

Oh that is bad, clicked around to a particular cedric winter cleaning post.

It goes deeper!

SolEiji, your job is to preserve this.

All of this.

Not the most pants-on-head thing I've read, but... I can see it being amusing.

I mean, seriously, I can rattle off at least three other games that are at least twice as offensively bad:

• Skorched Urf's entire product line for d20 Modern. One of the settings revolves around a giant dick, lightyears in length. And by "revolves around", I mean that it is the literal center of the universe, and the GLORIOUS PHALLUS is imprinted into the DNA of all living things.

• Channel M's Witch Girl Adventures is essentially someone trying to make a Harry Potter knock-off RPG for little girls... using his fetish fiction as a setting base. And not seeing anything wrong with this.

Rapture Academy. Just... Rapture Academy. It's what you'd get if you locked someone in a room with a bunch of RPGs from the 90s and a lot of bad hentai. And then told them that they couldn't leave until they wrote you an RPG. The true path to power is to be a robot futa catgirl elf (I'm... not even sure I've got those words in the right order).

Does the standard "visit friends overseas, shove your luggage full of stuff that's cheaper" still work?

Because I know that's how we avoided import tax on some stuff when I was a wee tyke.

Chaos Bolt seems like it would combine amazingly with the Empowered metamagic. At the very least, the chance of you rolling a match goes up immensely, and you'd (theoretically) have much more control over the damage type.

EDIT: Toll The Dead seems like it almost supplies a viable Eldritch Blast alternative for Warlocks, too.

Elemental Adept has some interesting interaction with Chaos Bolt too.  1s and 2s aren't desirable, but they're more likely to give you a jump.

Not by too much, though - you're going from 1/8 to ~3/16.

Oh, and as a side note: man, Toll The Dead is stupidly good for Eldritch Knights, thanks to War Magic. Meanwhile, Infestation is just plain funny on a Sea Sorcerer - smack someone for a little damage and then make them move 20ft in a random direction.

Weird, but awesome!

Zombie chant seems like it should cost at least 2. There have got to be some degenerate combos you can get from just spamming a do-nothing spell for 1 mana.

I guess you could use it to build Storm count and/or trigger things that care about you casting Instants and Sorceries? Most of the latter are Blue, though.

So... this one's kind of dumb and weird (but actually works):

<Dumb Card> {1R}
When <Dumb Card> enters the graveyard, <Dumb Card> deals 2 damage to target player.
Splice onto Elemental {R}

That's... actually a legal use of the Splice keyword. Under the Comprehensive Rules as of Aether Revolt, Splice adds its non-splice text to the textbox of whatever card it gets spliced onto.

So this could be cast as a weird form of hard-to-counter burn. Or you could splice it onto an Elemental and deal some damage when they kill it.

To demonstrate the ridiculousness of this, observe:

Zombie Chant {B}
When Zombie Chant is put into the graveyard, return it to its owner's hand instead.
Splice onto Zombie {BB}

You ask for a hamburger, I give you a hamburger. You raise it to your lips and take a bite. Your eye twitches involuntarily. Across the street a father of three falls down the stairs. You swallow and look down at the hamburger in your hands. I give you a hamburger. You swallow and look down at the hamburger in your hands. You cannot swallow. There are children at the top of the stairs. A pickle shifts uneasily under the bun. I give you a hamburger. You look at my face, and I am pleading with you. The children are crying now. You raise the hamburger to your lips, tears stream down your face as you take a bite. I give you a hamburger. You are on your knees. You plead with me to go across the street. I hear only children's laughter. I give you a hamburger. You are screaming as you fall down the stairs. I am your child. You cannot see anything. You take a bite of the hamburger. The concrete rushes up to meet you. You awake with a start in your own bed. Your eye twitches involuntarily. I give you a hamburger. As you kill me, I do not make a sound. I give you a hamburger. You asked me for a hamburger, and I gave you a raccoon. You asked me for a hamburger, but it turns out I don't really exist. Where I was originally standing, a picture of a hamburger rests on the ground. You awake as a hamburger. You start screaming only to have special sauce fly from your lips. The world is in sepia. Why are we speaking German? A mime cries softly as he cradles a young cow. Your grandfather stares at you as the cow falls apart into patties. You look down only to see me with pickles for eyes, I am singing the song that gives birth to the universe.
Eiji's page cracks me up.

You've never seen this before?
