Living Greyhawk Qs
« on: December 22, 2022, 03:05:33 AM »
i don't know much about Living Greyhawk, other than it was Organized Play for 3.x.

is the material 1pp? 2pp? 3pp?

if it is 1pp/2pp, any idea if there is a list of all the unique mechanics found in them? most of the mechanics i browsed through was linked from the original source probably so they didn't need that source to run it?

ex. CORS4-02 has a new template, called the Ice-Touched.
ex. CORS4-02 changed the spellcasting advancement of the True Necromancer
ex. PAL1-09 has the Fang of Iuz, a weapon i don't remember seeing anywhere else

Living Greyhawk was an RPGA thing, the organized play branch of TSR that was later inherited by WotC. It would technically be 1st party, but much of the development was undertaken by volunteers.

The public-facing parts of LG from the WotC homepage are archived here, you'd need to look through it yourself as I have never paid attention to it: https://archive.vn/20121210182219/http://www.wizards.com/lg

Ha! There isn't even a full list of modules! Seriously: Even the people who were in charge of LG don't really know how many LG modules were made. Living Greyhawk combined an overly ambitious segregation of the player base with real world regions getting their own unique modules (many not even in English, since several European countries got their own region), and generous licensing that gave module authors rights to non-IP material in their work after LG ended (so WotC couldn't re-release them if they wanted to).

It is indeed hard find the old modules now that most of the Regional Triads perished.

There used to be quite a collection of them archived online while LGG was active. Most people never thought to mine them for useful finds.

In my case, psionics was not a focus (again) so there wasn't much to catch my interest.
