DO WANT.

Seriously, though... That houserule is nice. I keep thinking on adopting it on future campaigns...

I already know that if Phaedrus joins the game, he'll want it, so I'll just skip him. :P
:lol I don't really care. When you're ruler of the world, it's all your gold.  :P It's sure fun to have extra magical doodads, but if it makes it harder for you as a DM/you don't want it, then don't use it. (I typically use mine for Smoking and/or Warning armor spikes/etc...)

Debating who/what to play... Of course the warlock puppet master I mentioned earlier could certainly fit, but so could some version of this aboleth build I made a while back. I've made so many characters that I never got to play, it's going to be hard to choose... Hmm...  :plotting

Edit: I might prefer this aboleth/mind pirate build, actually. Of course, I'd get rid of the grafts for normal equipment. I'd also have to figure out how to refluff it to work in Eberron.

Edit2: Looks like Keith Baker already worked on fluff for the aboleths in Eberron. The Mind Pirate abilities could just represent unique manifestations of aboleth powers, rather than being tied to the river Styx. Another suggested "conversion" I found was to say that the River Styx does exist, but is within Khyber, and represents the still flowing blood of the ancient progenitor dragon.

Or maybe just straight-up play a Lord of Dust. :D

But... But... You would be involved in the stuff directly. You wouldn't be the master manipulator anymore  :P

I don't know what I want to play... Maybe a crazy cleric of the Traveler worthy of the saying "Beware the gifts of the Traveler"... Or maybe some sort of rogue...

I'll wait for other people to pick crazy things and then decide what I want to do.  You guys should have figured out that's how I do things by now.  :p

Who says? I could be manipulating all kinds of stuff (maybe behind the scenes) while still having to "do it myself" occasionally.

If we had some kind of mechanics to represent manipulating minions/armies, it might be fun also, but standard D&D seems to handle that stuff poorly. I know there has been some homebrew along those lines, but I've hardly looked at it and have no idea if Venn is interested in that kind of plot. :P

Handling massive army battles and huge battlefields? No thanks. :P
Things are getting a bit crazy conceptually as it is, and no one's even rolled their character yet. :lmao

This FactionRPG sounds like it was made for the kind of game I was envisioning that this could turn into (wide-scale political intrigue and fighting)... but I can't really take the time needed to learn a new system entirely. :P

Edit: OK, maybe I can... I decided to apply for that game, as a Dragonmarked House that's secretly been corrupted/taken over by the Lords of Dust. :D Any of you interested in trying out a new system centered around competitive, large-scale political intrigue should apply as well.

The idea isn't dead, but I recently started the process of taking classes for a graduate degree, so I'm not going to have as much time going forward. Plus, I just started a different PbP game and that'll take up a good bit of time. Once I establish whether I can keep that game moving, I'll revisit this one.

How are those classes going?   :P
