D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder / Re: Tabletop Warriors: Charity Crawl
« on: June 23, 2014, 08:20:11 PM »
Only Pathfinder classes allowed, currently just want to keep it a quick flow for everyone, and that includes viewers who may not know much about the system.

Well, if I get to choose the Charity, I may very well consider being the DM. I happen to know a cat shelter in need of a new roof. (I hope to go up and fix it this weekend.)

And staying awake for 24 hours? PAH! Child's play. I don't sleep as it is. Sleep is for wimps. You know what I have? PAIN. That's all a man needs, PAIN. And fluffy kittens. With Sharp Painful Claws.

Interesting! I would love to talk to you both more about it. Please email me at Charitygizmo@gmail.com. That will be the easiest way for me to stay in contact with everyone and negotiate everything.

D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder / Tabletop Warriors: Charity Crawl

Hello everyone!

I am planning an all night game session event with added benefit of raising money toward a charity. I first discovered the idea by listening to a podcast which I regularly follow, http://www.feartheboot.com/ftb/. For those of you who do not know about this podcast, I highly recommend it. From the people starting out in the hobby and the age old veterans, they provide content suitable from everyone. Topics range from character building, world building, role playing, and everything in between and beyond.

I seek players, viewers, people wanting to donate, and everyone who just wants to enjoy a good night of killing, exploring, and shenanigans. Viewers will be taking polls before and throughout the game. These polls will provide interaction within the game itself, and could cause some very interesting situations.

Date information:
-The date is currently being confirmed, but we are planning a Friday night in August. (most likely toward the end of the month)
-The stream will launch at 7:00pm, and the event will begin at 8:00pm. All times based on Eastern Standard Time (EST)
-The length of the game will range from 16-24 hours.

General Game information:
-The system being played will be Pathfinder.
-The virtual tabletop http://roll20.net/  will be used.
-Players will be joining voice communication via Skype.
-Rookies and Veterans are both accepted to play, though some gaming experience is preferred.
-The party will consist of four players, all starting at level 3.
-Only core races will be allowed.
-Only core and base classes will be played.
-All Archetypes written by Paizo for each class will be allowed.
-Allowed to start with one character trait.
-Allowed two flaws, each providing a feat, from http://www.roleplaynexus.com/flaws.html
-Players will begin with a starting wealth of 3,000gp.
-No single starting item can cost more than half of the starting wealth.
-The game will be a general adventure game, not just a dungeon crawl.
-Should any player fall asleep said character will be removed from the game.
-Should a character die, and have no means of returning back to life, said character will be removed from the game.
-Any player interested in playing will need to provide a link to their online character sheet from http://www.myth-weavers.com and provide a brief character background consisting of two to three paragraphs in length. Said information is to be emailed to CharityGizmo@gmail.com. Please have your character name and class as the subject.
-Due to the added benefit of items being given to characters from viewers, the difficulty of the adventures will be high.

The party consists of:
1. Ahmiko Du'vallon (Fighter 3)
2.
3.
4.

Donations and the charities:
-Donations will all be made via Paypal.
-After the event 100% of the donations will be sent to the selected organization.
-All donations that meet or exceed $2 will provide an in game reward for a selected player.
-There are multiple organizations in question:

The specific organization is still being decided as a few are being considered and communicated with.

In game donation reward:
-A person who makes a donation gets to choose one of the current players to receive an award.
-All gifts will be allowed a 140 character message to the said character.
-The in game reward is given at a time selected by the person who made the donation.
These rewards are:
$2     – A single Cure Light Wounds Potion.
$4     – A single Cure Moderate Wounds Potion.
$6     – A collection of any 3 potions or scrolls, no single item may exceed 300gp in value.
$8     – A collection of any 3 potions or scrolls, no single item may exceed 750gp in value.
$10   – A collection of any 3 potions or scrolls, no single item may exceed 1500gp in value.
$15   – Any wondrous item up to 10,000gp in value.
$20   - Any weapon, wondrous item, armor, potion, scroll, rod, or wand up to 30,000gp in value
$25   - A token a resurrection (a single use brings a character back to life.)
$50   – Any Minor or Major Artifact.
*Any item selected to be gifted to a player must be found on http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

If a brave soul is willing to DM the event, I will make a character and play.

Will need some moderators to keep track of all donations and polls throughout the event. If interested in this position please send an email to CharityGizmo@gmail.com.

I'd love to see Catfolk made. I want to play one and I would love to have the Monster Levels to take, i think it just has a LA +2, so shouldn't be too hard :) I think they are in Races of the Wild

May want to take this over to Giant in the playground, people may actually respond there.

Homebrew and House Rules (D&D) / Re: Final Fantasy D20

A lot of the balance is already done, there is a ton of content already created. The man does well at keeping up on everything and maintaining the website. It is definitely worth checking out if you love Final Fantasy and want to run a campaign in that system.

I was curious so I googled the question to see if anyone had done it. It turns out a man who goes by the name of Viladin is doing great work at converting Final Fantasy into a playable table top D20 system. Some things still need to be converted, but a lot of the material has already been finished. He has done great work. If you are interested in Final Fantasy, or just want some cool things you might want to throw into your game. Check it out!
