Yes, in 1989 or 1990. I can't remember which

I believe the spell-aimed AMF would still be effective to a large extent. It should prevent him from being targeted with spells (as the AMF would block line of effect). However, it would not prevent magic weapons from functioning fully (as they are entering his space to hit him.) Also, anyone entering his space would also not be affected (namely, if they got swallowed or somesuch.)I might be being a dunce here, but Antimagic Field does not block Line of Effect. A line of effect is a straight, unblocked path that indicates what a spell can affect. A line of effect is canceled by a solid barrier.
At least I think that's how it would work.
In either case, if he dropped the field to breath, then got hit with a readied spell, bringing the field back up wouldn't then suppress the spell now affecting him. The normal AMF would do so.Far better idea to use the standard AMF.
Why not just add in Extraordinary Spell Aim, to exclude himself from the effect of the AMF? Would allow his buffs to stay up, and wouldn't need to drop it every round then.
Granted, it means his breath weapon is essentially useless, but...
Do they have to be artificers? If BoVD is allowed, then you play as a Binder 5/Ur-Priest 2/Divine-Adapted Anima Mage 10. Sacrifice people for Darkcraft XP and gp, and then bind Astaroth to craft whatever the hell you want that day.
In PHB2, there's a spell called Transference - it lets you use other (willing) creatures XP for crafting instead of your own. If the group's getting the items, they oughta be willing to cough up the XP. Or you could bribe some NPC to let you use his.
Total modifier my friend, total modifierWarlock can do it if you focus on no-save invocations.Verily, I agree most wholeheartedly.
Wait, plus fucking fourteen modifier?!?!!! Tell me that's also the DM's age. Nothing else makes sense.
You could also try the Healer and disguise the fact your stats suck by doing the one task that will make you popular at any table that winds up with such an absurd ability score spread. You'll be bored out of your mind, but no one will notice you aren't doing anything useful.
Thirty fucking eight ability score. 38!
... In a row!
You could use dragonwrought kobold for +3 to mental stats. Now this is a hilarious idea
You could play a muckdweller (Serpent Kingdoms, p71) and take an albatross (Stormwrack, p52/165) as your familiar. Combining one of the few tiny races with one of the few small familiars lets you ride it. An albatross has a fly speed of 50 feet, so you might be able to keep out of harm's way.
I vote for Lesser Dragonborn Arctic Ooze Para-Genasi. You can swing a 22 in constitution that way, plus a breath weapon so you can qualify for meta-breath feats. A solid tier 3.I think I'd get prodded with a red hot poker if I tried this..
Melee wizard. Get a dagger and run to the front.Trust me.. I thought about it, but I don't know how optimised the party will be and I'm sure I'll be able to create something worthwhile
Your next rolls will liekly be better.
