Fate Spinner is easy to qualify for and if you only take 4 levels you loose no spellcasting level hit.

Min/Max 3.x / Re: Hiding a Lich’s Phylactery
« on: March 04, 2013, 12:44:48 PM »
Interesting, the way lich's come back from the dead in 3.5 vs Pathfinder. If this was being asked for a pathfinder game then a lot of the ideas above wouldn't work due to the following:

Rejuvenation (Su)
Quote
When a lich is destroyed, its phylactery (which is generally hidden by the lich in a safe place far from where it chooses to dwell) immediately begins to rebuild the undead spellcaster's body nearby. This process takes 1d10 days—if the body is destroyed before that time passes, the phylactery merely starts the process anew. After this time passes, the lich wakens fully healed (albeit without any gear it left behind on its old body), usually with a burning need for revenge against those who previously destroyed it.

If this was for a pathfinder game.. you'd need to grow.. and while you were growing you'd be vulnerable so making this into an item on your person or anywhere you could be found would be great if you want to be simply get destroyed every day.

I can see adventurers casually taking turns daily to see who gets to slice and dice up the lich's body that day.. an annoying but a small price to pay for their new/shiny "uber" magic item.

I know this board isn't overly fond of Pathfinder but I thought I'd at least get one reply..

In any case after contemplating the numbers, I think its better to improve ones action economy by adding an additional spell per round being cast then gaining one more level of spells.. so I'm going with my option 2.

Antipaladin2/Magister3/Draconic Disciple 4/Magus1/Eldritch Knight 10 = win
7th lvl spells
CL20
16 or 17 bab

Its a strong build for my undead character (tons of synergy all over the place) but it also looks great for a living gish as well.

For those who aren't Pathfinder fans.. see, who says you can't make ones caracter complicated with lots of multiclassing in order to successfully min max in Pathfinder?  :D

Short version:
Would you choose to loose a level of spells known for a gish (CL isn't a problem, I'll get it maxed either way), and possibly loose Bab (depending on if fraction bab can be used) to gain an additional spell off every round of combat (gained with a 1lvl dip in Magus)?

Additionally to cast the spell as well as full attack swings (via Magus's "Spell combat") I'd have to one hand it instead of two handing my falchion so somewhat less dmg and take a -2 to all my attacks (but that shouldn't be an issue as my character's Str will eventually be 38. I'm thinking the loss is worth it to cast another spell a round (which could be cast in addition to swift action quickened spells eventually)

Longer version:
I'm playing a gish character (gaining the vampire template) in the Way of the Wicked adventure path for Pathfinder (where you play as villains, amazing AP so far btw). As for my build, I have two options I'm looking at:

1) Antipaladin2/Magister3/Draconic Disciple 4/Eldritch Knight 10/ Magister1
(16 lvl level spells known, higher bab most likely, makes me gain the EK capstone 1 lvl sooner)

-or-

2) Antipaladin2/Magister3/Draconic Disciple 4/Magus1/Eldritch Knight 10
(15 lvl spells known, might loose bab (depending), makes me gain the EK capstone 1 lvl later)

Here's the ability that has me considering this dip:
Spell Combat (Ex)
(click to show/hide)
(Note: I will be selecting several known spells with my Magister levels that qualify to be cast by the above ability)

My character's specifics:

Stats at lvl 6 (his current lvl):
Str 21 (at lvl 9 this will be 32 with out items, 38 with a +6 str item)
Dex 18
Con -
Int 16
Wis 14
Cha 18 (I will eventually get this up to 30 in my teen levels)

I should also mention my character's type is "undead" and will also gain the full vampire template at level 9 (gained via taking 5 feats as per the AP's specific rules).

What are your thoughts?

Thanks for your time. :)
