I agree.
For one, the much neglected rules for hirelings or Organisations will be important.
Summoning characters like the Malconvoker will have a much easier time, as will charactes that can heal themselves and do ranged combat.
Occurence of traps is much DM fiat, so trapfinding will MAYBE not be that much of a problem, but sooner or later save-or-suck effects (paralysis, sickened, stunned, effects of tashas`hideous loughter or somesuch, not to mention sepia snake sigil) will be a problem.
In my opinion a divine caster will have the best chances to survive, maybe an archivist with a feat that allows spontaneous healing spells and in combination with a summoning build (Malconvoker and thaumaturgist prestige classes come to mind).
Maybe a Crusader from Tome of Battle, he`s rather resilient and can heal to some degree...
On the other hand, solo-campaigns give the DM much room to flesh out the NPC`s and would mave a vivid game experience
