Q5: Jack of All Trades (the level 2 Bard ability) grants half your Proficiency to any ability check that doesn't include your proficiency.  Does this include things like attack rolls with weapons you aren't proficient in, initiative, your weak saves, etc?

Sounds like a fun concept to me!  All the goals you listed are achievable as a level 1 Bard, so I guess the main question is whether you want to be better at the "using daggers" part (Valor), or better at the "trickster/bluffer" aspect (Lore). 

This thread on the Wizards boards has a bunch more info that might be helpful to you also.

Hello!  I am a person from New England who, like many, has been lurking on this board for some time thanks to the various D&D handbooks / tier lists / etc.  I am especially a fan of castle / town / empire building subsystems on top of D&D games (Stronghold Builder's Guide, Ultimate Campaign, etc).
