Min/Max 3.x / Intelligent killer
« on: August 13, 2015, 08:12:01 PM »
I'm looking for ways to get the most out of intelligence as a melee combatant. I'm starting with a swashbuckler for 3 levels to get INT to damage. I have seen what passes for the Swashbuckler handbook and the options were less than impressive.

I was thinking of Daring outlaw and loading up on sneak attack dice but want to look at other options. I have been tossing around the idea of Swash 3/ Lion Barb 1-2/Dungeon Crash fighter X; for a tactical hulk build or maybe going into warblade because martial adept ftw.

Any ideas are appreciated as I have no idea where to go.

I know it was an online article that this was printed in, but I can't find the article and other links I've found lead to dead sites. Does anyone have a current working link for the feat?

Absolute steel was the one i was thinking of.

And thanks for the clarification on charges. DM and I weren't sure so we went the safe route and decided to check.

I can't remember the name or school of a stance But i remember it gave a +10 foot boost to movement, would anyone be able to point it out; and can you use a maneuver after a charge?

Is there a feat that allows a wizard to ignore ASF? I thought there was but  I can't seem to find it.

Thanks for the replies.
I don't want a book thrown at me so probably won't try to convince anyone that a skill check is an encounter.

Is there any way to make auras like those gained from the Dread Necro or Marshal classes affect a larger area?

Thanks for the ideas will take them into consideration; I love how everyone seems to forget that charisma isnt appearance specifically but more strength of personality.

My first attempt at a homebrew race For 3.5:

A Majhaarat is the last remnant of a god that was killed and has taken refuge on the material plane. Vengence against those that killed him is the only thing that allows a majhaarat to take a physical form.

Racial Traits:
Bonus Domain Feat
+1 skill point per level
change shape (allows minor changes to apperance e.g. hair color/length; cannot take apperance of specific person)

As this is my first attempt I would request help balancing this to be a no LA race for a gestalt campaign; if there is already anything like this I truly didn't know. Thanks for any and all feed back

Edit:removed CHA to HP and Negative energy healing and changed minor shapechange

I may be wrong but im pretty sure that everyone within the area of grease is treated as flat-footed unless they have 5+ ranks in tumble.

I seem to remember seeing a feat that allows an undead to add their charisma to HP but can't remember where. Is this an actually feat or i it wishful thinking?

I'm a fan of Avasculate; reduce opponent to half hp and stunned for one round, if they save they are not stunned. Brutal spell to throw in the first round against the BBEG.

A lock down Crusader is nasty due to stand still and thicket of blades; you literally punish enemies for moving or not moving.
hereis a link to some printable maneuver cards as it can be a pain to make the yourself, just make sure your paper is a little thicker than the normal printer paper. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20061225a

Gaming Advice / Contingent Magic jar
« on: April 12, 2013, 07:17:53 PM »
If a contingent magic jar is set to go off on the bearer's death would they survive inside the gem? Would you be able to go back into your body when it is safe?

Min/Max 3.x / Re: new to d&d and wanting to tank with a druid
« on: April 04, 2013, 10:59:48 PM »
Just a word of warning: the druid has a lot of book keeping you need to do. Your character sheet, animal companion, summons lists, spells, and wildshape forms all need to be kept track of. I'm  not saying don't play a druid, but if you can't get a system that works well for you to keep track of everything you will quickly have papers everywhere or be flipping through books trying to find that one spell or wildshape form. I recommend buying some note cards and using them as quick references for spells, wildshape and summons.

That said: Druid is a power house with all the flavor and versatility you could ask for.
