Added a sources covered page to the sheet to make it easier to track the books covered.

I appreciate it, altpersona, but I'm in the middle of doing the same thing. I want two sheets, one that shows what options open up at each class level, and one that is a filterable table. I would appreciate it if you could help me clean up the grammar in the text boxes though.

Also, MMV. Any suggestions? Aside from Bladerager.

The sheet is formatted like it is to mimic the layout of the original guide. I had planned a second sheet that would be searchable, but ran out of motivation before I could get to it. I'll start working on that now that this is public.

Also of note - the sheet doesn't include MM5, does anyone have suggestions besides Bladerager Troll?

Handbooks / Master of Many Forms Forms Bible
« on: May 13, 2016, 10:57:52 AM »
Well, it finally happened. The old WotC forums are dead and buried, and among the casualties was the Master of Many Forms Bible, by Harzerkatze. At some point in the past, I had taken his list of good forms and dumped it into a spreadsheet for ease of reading. I never finished the work I had planned to do on it, but it's at least preserved, in a much more legible form. Check it out here.

The doc currently has two sheets. One gives a list of forms that open up at each level of the class, while the other is more granular to allow filtering. To use this second page, you will need to enable the data filter. Google, in their infinite wisdom, does not allow table filters to be enabled on a sheet by default, so you will need to turn it on yourself.

Discussion thread here.

Discussion thread for the MoMF Bible sheet. If anyone has any forms that the sheet is missing, let me know.

Lycanthropes not listed in the entry are ruled as always true neutral, sadly.

Probably not going to fly with the DM, sadly, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

Changeling is a thought, but the build is already crazy feat-intensive. The build only works with two flaw feats, Human bonus feat, and two extra feats I got from a component point. I don't think the build will work if I sacrifice two feats to go Changeling.

The Phoenix bit on Shiba Protector is fluff, DM is ignoring it.

Wererat's alignment is Chaotic Evil, sadly, the statblock on the SRD lies.

More specific, right.

I was taking the Afflicted Lycanthrope template. Under that template, if you ever voluntarily assume hybrid or animal form, your alignment immediately changes to that of the animal. Monks require lawful, and the only lawful lycanthrope is werebear, and the six racial HD do not fit into the build at all.

If there's a way to play a non-lawful monk that still gets Flurry that I can replace with Decisive Strike, that would work too. Otherwise, I'm looking for a cheap template that gives the shapechanger subtype, and preferably some boosts to Str or Wis. It needs to be a template because I'm shooting for Shiba Protector in the build - it's focused on Stunning Fist, and the synergy is real strong.

Min/Max 3.x / Warshaper entry help

Recently, I put together a build for an arena that used Lycanthrope to qualify for the Warshaper PrC, and it got the kibosh because of rules against alignment change. I'd still really like to run the build, but the only way I can swing it is with a template that qualifies me for Warshaper with LA 2 or less. And no, Divine Minion is banned. Does such a thing exist, or am I going to be forced to scrap the build?

General D&D Discussion / 3.5 Web Enhancements down
« on: July 30, 2014, 02:58:23 PM »
So all the 3.5 Web Enhancements appear to have been taken down, both the collection page and the individual pages are missing. Anyone know if they're hosted elsewhere? There's some neat stuff in there, it'd be a shame to lose it all.

Just checked on whether or not the Swiftblade page was up as well, looks like they took down all the old 3.5 stuff. Does anyone think they'll put it back up, or should we start putting together an archive of our own?

I'd be interested in taking over the Dipping mini-handbook, it looks like there's some room to improve.

Are 3.5 base classes allowed? I'm totally game to play either way, this sounds like a hoot.

Gaming Advice / Spending XP
« on: June 12, 2014, 11:01:40 AM »
Let's say I am playing a Wizard. I reach level six and grab Craft Wondrous Item. I immediately craft something, and spend XP. I am now below the XP threshold for sixth level. Do I lose that level? Can I spend that XP? I do not believe you lose the level, but one of the members of my group disagrees. Was this question definitively answered anywhere?

Addendum: if you go the Imperious Command route and want to take advantage of the Charisma required, you can dip a level in Marshal to use that Charisma for any number of other things.

Something that jumps out at me is the spell level progression. Smoothing it out to a new spell level every three levels is much cleaner, and I don't think makes him any more or less powerful.

For the fear effects, look up the Fighter substitution levels Zhentarim Fighter and the feat Imperious Command, which combined let you attempt to cower an opponent as a swift action. Add the Never Outnumbered skill trick and the Intimidating Rage feat, and you have some very effective fear shenanigans.

As for charging, look up the feats Leap Attack, Battle Jump, Shock Trooper, and Combat Brute. Those are the bog-standard "charge for a million billion damage" feats. Don't forget to take the Spirit Lion Totem ACF for Barbarian to get Pounce.

Open question to any probability buffs:

Tangential, but I had a question regarding Bracers of Murder vs Hunter's Bracers. At what point do the Murder bracers add more damage to a SA than the Hunter's Bracers? I assume that rerolling all ones is effectively the same as rolling a five-sided die with the sides 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, giving you an average of 4 damage per SA die, or a .5 average damage increase / SA die. Thus, you do more damage with Murder bracers at eight SA die. Is this a correct analysis, or is this fall in the realm of Bayesian logic?

Why is his AC zero? Mis-math?

How does he have -8 size bonus to Str while also being colossal? Also a +8 bonus? I'm confused. Also, you're counting +15 paragon bonus twice, and it looks like you're only applying the template once.

I'd put your STR to 12, then spend a stat up on it so you qualify for Power Attack. Arcane Strike + Wraithstrike + Power Attack lets you channel your inner Phreak for Tons of Damage.

If webstuff is allowed, look at Swiftblade. It is hilarious fun times. If that's not allowed, you are probably best served by the Eldritch Knight PrC from the DMG. Super boring, but I don't think anything else is really very good to you.

Seriously though, push hard for Swiftblade, it's awesome.
