Other RPGs / [BESM d20] How to make a badass lich
« on: November 17, 2012, 04:37:14 PM »
Well, one of my gaming group is utterly hellbent on running a game of BESM d20, and has already ok'ed my idea to play a lich as my character. It is a game using the corebook only, level 10, with 50 initial free character points, using the Dynamic Sorcery attribute for magic. Unfortunately for me, what I know about making good characters in BESM d20 could fill a thimble halfway, so I am basically lost. How would I go about making a badass lich in this system with these given rules?

Min/Max 3.x / [PF] Oh geez what did I get myself into

Ok, so, I'm brainstorming for character ideas for a Pathfinder Gestalt game. Yeah. Anyway, my initial attempt relies heavily on 3rd party material, and while my GM is fine with that and doesn't really care, it kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth to do so. So, I had a couple other ideas for viable combinations.

First, I had the idea of Sorcerer//Oracle. I think I can basically piece this one together myself. Pick decent spells from arcane and divine magics, get some metamagic feats, it's all good, especially since both are charisma casters.

The other idea I had is where I need help: Wizard//Alchemist. See, I know how wizards roll, but I don't really know what to do with the alchemist side to make the two synergize and complement each other especially well. Of particular note of sticking in my craw are what to do with feats, and how to go about picking my extracts and discoveries on the alchemist side.

Since I want it to complement my Wizard side, I was thinking of using the Mindchemist archetype for the cognatogen, but beyond that, I'm stumped. I would like to focus on the mutagen and extract parts of alchemist over the bomb throwing aspect, if at all possible. Any help from the playground, I would greatly appreciate.

Min/Max 3.x / Re: [Pathfinder] An experiment in Pathfinder Psionics

Good enough ...

Psion that doesn't mind being 1 level or so behind,
can just make big Powerstones of whatever powers.
PHB2 retraining early, and PsyRef later to get more.
Adventure to find more psionic npcs.
Psicraft check what they've got, and then trade.

Combat powers get to stay "in",
not used so often powers go into the Powerstones.
More expensive than Erudite or Wizard or Archivist.
Linked PsyRef is faster and has more options, than E W or A.

Not to sound rude, but I did specify several times that I'm wanting Pathfinder only here.

Min/Max 3.x / [Pathfinder] An experiment in Pathfinder Psionics

So, I've recently started playing pathfinder, on account of my group finally having a GM to run it. I was rather fond of psionics in 3.5, so imagine my joy when I found out Dreamscarred Press made a Pathfinder book for psionics.

Of course, one thing I always desired as a psion was the ability to exceed that limit on powers known, and, to use a meme here, know ALL the psionic powers.

I'm aware of some methods, some silly, to achieve this or at least most of this in 3.5 psionics, but is there a way in Pathfinder to achieve at least all the general powers known and up to 8th level discipline specific powers known as a psion?

Introduce Yourself / I'm a fancy pants, and so can you!
« on: February 05, 2012, 03:14:42 AM »
Oy oy ahoy! Those from bg may recognize my username, I am Archmage Joda, and I, am a fancy pants. I took a bit of a hiatus when the great forum change occurred, but now I am here, and playing Pathfinder among other games with my cohorts. I look forward to finding out just how many spells known I can cram into my dual-bloodline sorcerer with nothing but Pathfinder sources.
