Thanks for the replies! My group doens't play with errata. I spoke with my DM about it though. He said even through the fluff mentions divine, the descriptive text for the feat doesn't so it will work with Arcane spells.

How about adding a level of Soul Eater (BoVD) to a monster? It's first level ability adds 1 con damage to it's natural attacks.
Quote
To qualify to become Soul Eater, a character must fulfill all the following criteria:
Race: Any living nonhumanoid (monstrous humanoid is acceptable).
    Alignment: Any evil.
    Skills: Knowledge (arcana) 2 ranks.
Feats: Alertness, Weapon Focus (claw or other natural weapon).
    Base Attack Bonus: +5.
Special: Soul eaters are usually created against their will. Sometimes, the emissary of an evil god or a powerful fiend approaches a monster on the verge of death. In exchange for continued life, the creature must feed on souls thereafter. More rarely, a creature desiring the ability to feed on souls undergoes a forbidden, profane ritual that allows it to become a soul eater.

Soul Eaters drain levels with natural attacks, not constitution. Combine with Improved Energy Drain and Life Drain (both from Libris Mortis) to make a monster that keeps getting stronger the more it hits. Feral Human Paladin of Slaughter 3 / Hexblade 2 / Soul Eater 1 will drain 2 levels per round. Combine with Willing Deformity and Deformity Teeth (Heroes of Horror) to make a non undead vampire that get stronger and tougher the more it feeds off of souls!

Min/Max 3.x / Holy Arcane Knight
« on: March 01, 2012, 06:41:40 PM »
In an upcomming game I plan on playing a Holy Arcane Knight type character. I plan on using the build 2 Paladin / 4 Sorcerer / 1 Spellsword / 5 Abjurant Champion / 8 Sarcred Exorcist. I plan on playing a human with a feat tree scetched out as:

H: Able Learner (to be able to make skill reqs on PRCs)
1: Power Attack
3: open
6: Combat Casting (prequisite)
9: Extend Spell
12: Persistent Spell
15: Divine Metamagic Persistant Spell
18: Extra Turning

This feels a bit "clunky" to me. I am looking for some help making this more elegant. My goals are a 16BAB at 20, paladin themed, 9th level spells from the Sorcerer spell list, and Persistant spells. Any suggestions? We use all WotC official material in a homebrewed world. Stats are randomly generated through a very forgiving mechanic (roll 4d6 reroll 1's and 2's drop lowest die). Thanks!

Peerless Archer is from Forgotten Realms Silver Marches page 115.

I do now know of the ACF to get power attack or Unarmed Strike from ranger. I would try and get a flaw allowed. It might help you get a flaw if you state that it is for a subpar feat (endurance).

This may be slightly cheesy but I like this rogue build:

14 Feat Rogue / 3 Swashbuckler / 3 Sneak Attack Fighter using Daring outlaw to to advance sneak attack damage. Pick up Craven, Martial Study / Martial Stance (any shadowblade technique) / Shadow Blade. Sneak attacks will do SA damage + character level + int mod + dex mod. Combine with Staggering Strike (CA) and Maiming Strike (EoE) to add some debuffs.

As for the ranger I would suggest atleast 3 levels of peerless archer for power attack with bows. Also, attempt to get a splitting bow asap.

Is your barbarian a dwarf? If so 2 levels of Stone Warden is amazing with Fist of the Forest.
