Gaming Advice / Playing D&D through internet visio chat
« on: July 21, 2012, 11:19:47 AM »
As time passes by, more and more of my gamers have to leave our motherland (or just go far enough that coming back for the night isn't worth it anymore) and feel doomed to forever leave our gaming group.

This has to stop !
Since binding them in iron and locking them up in a cellar is a legally grey solution, i found myself wondering :

Most of you have already experienced that, has any of you ever found a program capable of supporting DD ?
Ideally some sort of Audio-visio chat, with a common "white board" with with witch they could interact (like moving Dot-simulated characters ? My group is keen on keeping the visual aspect of the game)

There has to be a D&D programmer who thought of it...

We could also just strap a webcam to the chair, but it'd be quite basic..

« on: March 26, 2012, 06:50:59 AM »
Struck by a creative frenzy, i find myself in need of a skill tree builder

I could just photoshop one, putting à cute background image and tossing skills, description and reqs over ; the problem is, i have to make 15 of them..
Something that in the end would resemble : http://www.diablofans.com/page/tools/skill/d2-sorceress.html

Yeah, i've tought about those "Run after the culprit vs save the victims" choices but was searching for even worse dilemas, Where either way you're doing some evil.

In your example, either way you're doing something Good !
It's a choice of life over justice, even if the culprit commits another crime, people can't blame you, you did your part in saving those kids (or trying to).

Legends of the Heroes / Horror steampunk-like campaign : Quest ideas
« on: March 18, 2012, 01:29:48 PM »
After bringing to life a homemade world, including classes, i find myself lacking inspiration on quests, events and the like.
I'm already roaming the "creepy event thread" from WotC, but couldn't help wondering : What are your ideas ?

Here are the rough specs :

-The world is limited to an island like country (limited by a force dome)
-Said force dome blocks most of the sun rays (yay, every one is pale, and vampires can walk freely in "daytime")
-Said force dome severly prevents arcane magic usage, though souls can be used as an alternate source of power
-Think werewolf, vampires, possession and demon pacts

I need outcomes where whatever you do, there is no White/Black choices, it's only a matter of perspectives, and choosing the lesser evil for the greater good.

-Your name : Alain
-Your favorite games : D&D (ORLY?)
-Your non gaming hobbies : Pc gaming
-Where you live, including country, without using abbreviations : France, bordeaux
-What other communities you belong to meetups, message boards etc : Rip GM gameology, wich i roamed for 3 months before realizing i was the only one left
-Your twitter, facebook or G+ handle : These are not the droids you are searching for. Mail the forum

A little more : Currently working on a D&D world (actually, been working on it for 5 years now, and mastered it through 3 eras) in which i design nearly all of the classes, i'll therefore be posting mostly for balancing issues and advices.
I'm more of a ghost, rarely posting overall ;)
