Some good thoughts, thank you.

And well yeah I know killing Cthulhu is a bit... underwhelming considering he is the most powerful old god but it's a One Shot, I will be moving and wont be able to play with them anymore. Doing my best to make it memorable. They all love Cthulhu and other Eldritch horrors.

It seems finding a Lvl 20 One shot, or even creating one from scratch is going to be a pain.
Anyone have some fun one shots of a lower level? I might just go with that.

Hi! Having a bit of trouble making a one shot dungeon. Definitely not as easy as it sounds.
I'm looking for a one shot that can be completed in ~4 hours, gives them the freedom of how they proceed, tough morale choices, and a tough but beatable experience.

They aren't the most experienced crew and have never played high level (Which is why I want to give them a taste of it.) I will be making ~10 characters for them to choose from and play in the one shot.

Any ideas of traps, monsters, layout, etc? Will take all the help I can get.

Players: 5-6

Edit: I think making the end boss Cthulhu would be pretty cool but I fear he might be too strong for them. Even if there are 6 of them.

I dont enjoy doing stuff like that, I prefer to make em just like my PCs would be made.

1. This is a BBEG for me (As the DM) to use, I kinda dont wanna really go through the mass horde of zombies, just the bodyguards being undead and powerful.
2. I want to go cleric because I have 0 XP with Oracles and I like the flavor for Clerics
---

3. Downtime isnt an issue.

4. Is it really worth going for the 5 levels rather than 4 and getting that extra level in cleric even if it doesnt do anything for me to do cleric besides BAB? Or should I do a fighter dip for more feats or maybe even Sorcerer for Familiar get Improved and get an imp?

5. Like I said, sticking with Cleric for flavor and other reasons. MAD not an issue with the stats I got.

6. Noting the Feats and stuff, I am not good with using metamagic though. If you wouldnt mind giving me advice about that I would love it.

7. For darkskull what permanent effect should I have on it?

8. Reviewing my CS I might need to drop my armor, pick up Darkskull and Tattoo then look for armor. Any thoughts, ideas, or other things I could do to improve my Character Sheet? I still have plenty of time before my Players meet him so take your time!

DM seeking advice on Reoccurring BBEG

I am looking for help building a Cleric that is essentially a Necromancer [Thinking of Undead Lord Archetype -> Agent of the Grave]
I want him to be a spellcaster that controls 4-6 Undead Elite as bodyguards and forces intelligent undead to serve as commanders for his undead army. Any tips/ideas/suggestions on how to do this and things to remember when playing him?
--
Level: 17
Class: Cleric -> ?  (Clerics are considered the best Necromancers so.)
Race: Human or Elf (Flavor, still most likely to be Human)
Stats: 18, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10

Thanks for the suggestions and help guys!
I still might go Bard -> DD for flavor and fun but I will have to see it might be moot depending on how long the game lasts!

Well, I was able to reroll both the 7 and the 5 getting me two 14s!
Which is pretty awesome, does anyone have any thoughts on Pally/Bard/DD? Or should I just dip into fighter to get out of Pally 20?

Class: Paladin
Race: Human
Level: 2
Stats: 15, 13, 12, 11, 7, 5
God: Apsu (Flavor, Not changing)
Role: Bruiser/Support
Group: Cavalier, Oracle, Rogue?, Towershield Fighter

Plan: Paladin 20
or  Paladin -> Bard -> Dragon Disciple
----
Trying to make sure I stay at or above the power level of the rest of the group.  Only thing is I have never played a Paladin before.
I am trying to convince the DM to allow me to reroll the 5 but am going to assume he wont for now.

Can I get any love here? I am unsure of what to do right now and I don't want to be the crappy member in the back because of my stats. I am more than willing to roleplay the 5 in any stat it goes in.

Yeah I meant spells not power lol
Also I cant get Mithral Full Plate because of money constraints, I could get regular but my Str is too low to carry anything but that at that point.
I went ahead and got DMM+Persist for Divine Power, I will making sure they are ok with him and etc

As for the Shield I wont be wielding my morningstar all the time, hence why its not even masterworked atm. I just have it in case. Once I get higher up, Mithral Full Plate/Animated Shield/Bada$$ Morningstar all the way lol.
Now I just need to figure out what to do with my money!

Im looking to build a Cleric. I enjoy Summoning/Undead but I have decided not to go with the Undead Controller Cleric as we will definitely need me to be able to spontaneously cast Cure spells but the DM did state something,

"I do make unique items for each person they pick up along the way. I can ensure you get something to play with the dead if that's your fancy"

So there is that.
I am looking for help building my cleric as I have never done one before. Im not looking to break the game or having any weird builds etc. I just want to make sure I'm not gimped in anyway because I have never played a Cleric before! So here is all the crunchy stuff.
----
*note* Going Pure level 20 cleric, no prcs. Im wanting to learn the whole class and take it as far as I can. Maybe another time I will go into different prcs and etc.
----
Level: 8
Race: Human
Deity: Wee Jas
Domains: Law and Magic
Stats: (In any order needed but this is how I have them ATM.)
 Str - 13, Dex - 12, Con - 13, Int - 9 (+1 Level 4), Wis - 18 (+1 level 8), Cha - 16
Feats: Improved Init, Extend Power, Heighten Power, ???
Money: 6500 on Weapons/Armor (Mithral Breastplate, +1 Heavy Mithral Steel Shield, Morningstar)
1000 on supplies and potions (???)
3500 on ONE wondrous item. (Thinking about a BoH 1)
Players will lose one weapon or armor and receive a magic item in its place.
Books Allowed: There is not a list, but I can just easily run stuff by him. I do not have a lot of books, I am currently in the process of getting more.

Concept: Heal-bot, Spellcaster. I'm iffy about melee cleric but I want to make sure I can survive if I need to smack some stuff around (Hence the armor and etc)

Druid.

I'll echo this. You do not have any outstanding ability scores, and your group could do with something tankish like throwing bears in the opponents' faces.

We might have a Warforged Fighter that wants to enslave humanity, and the Druid just might be helping him enslave humanity while he enslaves nature.

Any idea what race this druid would play besides Human?

EDIT: Any good variants or etc from the books I listed? I was hoping to use them since I havent previously.

Hello everyone! I am here to once again call upon you for help :3
---
We are playing an Evil Eberron (Something I have never played before)
The Allowed books are:
"PHB, PHB II, Eberron Campaign Setting, Complete (Adventuerer, Arcane, Divine, Scoundrel, Warrior) and the Spell Compendium, however some stuff not make the cut if I think it won't fit in or is hella broken. Just to save time, if it is not found in these books I will not allow it."

Level 2
My abilities are: 14, 13, 14, 12, 10, 15
Only two people made it so far, so we have a Beguiler and Rogue right now
I mostly Play Wizards/Sorcs with a few fighter experiences but with my Abilities I am unsure what to make and I wanted to use the many books at our disposal because I haven't made a character from them before.

I have absolutely no clue what to make! I have never actually used all these books before, I have played mostly core stuff, and I am asking help for some fun builds!
I am not trying to Break the game in any means, I am not looking for extremely weird or out this world builds (LA +2  3 Classes/6 PRCs etc)
Just looking for something that messes well with others and is very fun.

Thanks for help in advance.

Any Character Sheets lying around of the things you recommend would be nice if you could post them so I can get an idea of what it is and look at the stats etc.

Not asking you to spend a lot of time making a CS but it would be awesome if you did ^_^

Since you mentioned the Magus, it doesn't seem to be core only after all. Are you using APG as well? I quite like the Inquisitor class myself. An Inquisitor 17/Fighter 2/Monk 1 build should be quite solid. It gets sixth level spells for buffing, Wis to a bunch of stuff, most importantly Initiative and AC, Judgement and Bane, and bonus feats from the Fighter levels sprinkled on. The teamwork feats, which aren't useful in 1v1, can be replaced with the Preacher or Spellbreaker ACFs (Preacher is probably better).
He said Pathfinder Core, then stated we could use the D20PFSRD as well so. Its basically just core. Magus is listed as a "Base Class" anyways lol

I have never played an Inquisitor, but I heard they are amazing 1v1.

If Prc's count as "classes," then there's nothing stopping you from going Wizard/Any 2 full casting PrC's and winning.

I am Personally avoiding full casters, DM might have overlooked this. Will speak with him about it when I can.
