Just curious, but did we ever find any use for the Green Star Adept?

You can use it in gestalt and fill in the missing caster levels on the other side.  That's all I can think of.

Maybe something could be done with Improved Caster Level? It adds you PrC level to your caster level, but the PrC is also 5/10 casting, so you can get 5 extra caster levels out of it. But you still lose 5 actual spell levels...
Gosh, this is garbage. Wouldn't it be better to eat the level adjustment to start as a Construct (assuming Living Construct wasn't enough)?

iirc - old wotc C.O. had a few GSA 9 builds.

Decent nerf of a Wizard down to Tier 3 ville.

Fat Jumper + GSA = much fatter jumper.

BG stuff
The_Mad_Linguist posted:  That said, an incarnate construct warforged Artificer 6\Renegade Mastermaker 10\Incarnate construct -2\Green star adept 10\ incarnate construct -2 would be ECL 20 with 26 class levels.  Yeah, there's the downside that you only have the infusion abilities of a level 19 artificer.  I guess you'll have to cry into your massive gish abilities.

Empirate said: Decent, I'll give you that. GSA is a gish light. But why not go straight Duskblade instead? Would be better imho.
The only builds I use GSA for are builds which do not aim to create a 9/16 gish. For example, I've used GSA to top off a Suel Arcanamach build after achieving most of its spell progression. Believe it or not: Dragon Disciple was still way better.
The only way in which half casting progression classes can be used is in builds whose spellcasting derives from PrCs with their own casting (like Suel Arcanamach). In these cases, GSA and its ilk at least allow you to complete the 10-level progression of that PrC spellcasting, if you entered the PrC early enough. So no, you can't even use it in conjunction with Sublime Chord. But it can be a nice finisher on Suel builds, or Knight of the Weave, Bladesinger (RoF incarnation), and so on.

AndyJames : One *fun* build I like to play with is Duskblade 5/Dragon Disciple 10/Exotic Weapon Master 1/Green Star Adept 4.
You get +10 to Str, IIRC, which you then pump into the EWM Uncanny Blow ability on a +1 spellstoring Tiger Skull Club. Have your arcane caster cast Vampiric Touch on this bad boy and enhance it with Greater Mighty Wallop. Power Attack is gravy.

I wonder if a decent Psi adaptation of GSA
would let you become an Astral Construct?
That'd make the level 10 ability not suck so much.

There was an Iron Chef thing itp for GSA. Iirc some of the builds were mildly clever.
I appreciate the logical, cool-headed responses and the lack of profanity displayed by our community.

Half-casting progression PrCs can be nice to round out some builds which make use of another PrC with casting of its own (i.e., a PrC that grants its own spellcasting, not progressing a base class's spellcasting). Just throwing that out there.

One nice thing about the Green Star Adept is that it grants immortality(that is the ability to not die of old age).....

Yes.

Grind them up as scrap metal. Two hundred pounds of off-world material can be used to buy a (better) hireling to replace them.
