Does Dimension Door take away your AoO for the round?

"After using this spell, you can’t take any other actions until your next turn."

Does this prevent you from taking an AoO's until your next turn?

It's iffy, mostly because there would definitely be cases where not being able to take any action at all would seem beyond the likely scope of the spell.  Can't speak, for example, since speaking is a free action.

But since it's combat related, it could be reasonably argued that AoO's couldn't be taken.

That's interesting; does it take away your Immediate action?

Quote from: Rules Compendium pg 7
Restricted Activity:  A few situations make you unable to take a full round’s worth of actions. In such cases, you’re allowed to take only a single standard action or a single move action, along with allowed swift, immediate, and free actions. You can’t take a full-round action and finish that action, but you can start or complete a full-round action by using a standard action.
Quote from: Rules Compendiumg pg 18
Attacks of Opportunity: *snip* Making an attack of opportunity isn’t considered an action...
So even after DD'ing, or while slowed, you can still take AoO's.

Theoretically the AoO not being considered an action would mean, RAW, you can take AoO's while completely denied actions, such as while stunned, dazed or paralyzed.  But that just seems ridiculous.

It's not ridiculous.  Those conditions have defined restrictions that are less than what would be "realistically" assumed for the sake of game balance.

Also, it's heroic fantasy.  The martial guy being able to AoO even while stunned is badass and cool and should be allowed anyway.   :)

AoOs are not actions, but they are attacks and they still require you to be able to move.  Anything that keeps you from attacking, such as Nauseated, prevents AoOs.  Anything that prevents physically moving at all, like paralysis, prevents AoOs.

Effects that merely take away your actions do not prevent them.

The martial guy would be badass making AoOs while dazed.  While stunned, probably not so much, since he would have dropped his weapon ...

But I agree with you about everything else.
What do I win?
An awesome-five for mentioning Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.
