Ways to increase thrown range distances?
« on: August 03, 2013, 07:44:47 PM »
I'm working on a Hulking Hurler monster, and I'm wondering if there are some obscure ways I'm not thinking of to increase the thrown range of his thrown weapons.  I'm building on a Huge Mountain Troll, so that will make his base range 15 feet.  Far Shot will double that to 30 feet.  He can throw up to 5 range increments, making it 150 feet total that he can throw something.

The thing is, one of the items I specifically want him to throw, is a viking longship.  Historical longships weighed about 20 tons.  This guy's light load tops out at 39,168 pounds... right around 20 tons.  The longship stats in Stormwrack is 70 ft long.  I'd like him to be able to throw it further.

Are there any other methods beyond the Distance enhancement?  A magical +1 Distance Longship is sort of out of the realm of possibility.

Gauntlets of Extended Range (I think that's the name) from MIC are super cheap and double thrown weapon distances, and they should stack with Distance property, if you have that, too.  Also don't forget goggles of foefinding from MIC, they're pretty useful before you can get Imp. Precise Shot.

Those gauntlets are perfect!

The goggles are also quite important, given the War Hulk's Massive Sweeping Boulder ability, where a +4 cover bonus would apply to most of those behind the first target.

Thanks a bunch.
