In America today, there's been a lot of drinking, grilling, and explosions.

In honor of this, I propose a call to a theme build: The Best Blastificer!  (ECL20 worth of XP, 760K gold, all official D&D 3.x material allowed, and official magazine material too, because we're going for bigger bangs.  And no loops.  Let's also assume that abilities which reduce the cost of metamagics also affect the craft cost appropriately.)

Oh yes, "Best" in this case has 3 categories:
-Highest single-damage blast
-Most damage in a 20' radius spread
-Most overall damage in 10 rounds.

Why Blastificer?  The Mailman already does damage marvelously in an arcane fashion, and I wanted a different flair.  And with Blastificer, there's the element of homebrew rockets.

sooooo? blast is blast. ^^ -ificer is optional. just ask anyone grilling a steak.

for single blast, it would have to be able to hit the same target all at once, probably within the same round.

for damage over time, should be good.


and if you really want, i could throw in a single level of artificer and the additional favored class feat and reduce the power link shards by one.

"-ificer" is optional, except that the challenge was specifically a blastificer, so it's not optional for this one contest.

Lacking Anarchic Initiate, at least 1 level to get Chaotic Surge. Possible +50% damage that stacks with Empower, or Free Maximize? Yes please! Also possible splash with Incarnum for Midnight Augumentation and Azure Talent. Invest essentia, gain PP, get even more free PP out of reducing the PP cost of a Psionic power, and gain the possibility of stacking even more Metapsionics in a single power without reaching the ML cap? Damn straight. You can safely lose up to 3 ML and still get 9th level psionics, and then get Practiced Manifester and don't lose on ML, only DC's... Adapted Soul Manifester from the Mind's Eye article(Psionic Soulcaster), and you can advance both at once.

I believe that's what you can call "win"? Choose Incarnate for more Essentia for a better blaster, Totemist for the unique Totem Chakra Bind and not too much lost Essentia (also arguably better soulmelds).

Azuran with Midnight Metapsi (on Bestow) at level 6 feat slot,
Magic Mantled can get Energy Missile at level 6.
Wilder 6 will probably run out of ppoints by round 10.
Wilder 7 might just make it, but run out of recharge potential.
So with Energy Missile + a smidge of cheese,
10d6*5*10 = 500d6 damage at level 7.
It's not a loop ; it is a very best case scenario.  Could be boosted.

"Single blast" refers to one use of an ability used within a round.  Repeat doesn't work (because it takes another turn) but Twin does.

Points for my omni-style? It can be done as an Artificer, using born of three thunders/ring of mystic electricity for sure.

Warmage/Stormcaster casts a Snowcast + Energy Admixture(electricity) + (Energy Substitution(acid) + (Blistering Spell + Fireball)) under Cold Snap, Caustic Mire, and Cold Spell Specialization. The spell has the [Acid, Cold, Electricity] descriptor, deals electricity & acid damage plus 2 fire damage per spell level. Via Reserves of Strength @cl21 the Fireball deals 23d6+161 electricity, 23d6+161 acid, +3 sonic, +6 fire, and stuns. 494 avg, 733.5 empowered.

Like a firework, it explodes with all kinds of colors and you can mix it with a Locate City Bomb ^_^
