Dual Spellcasting PrC?
« on: September 29, 2014, 03:45:19 PM »
I know about the mystic theurge, the psychic theurge, and the ultimate magus. They all increase two different caster levels at once, but a player I'm gaming with is hoping that there's others. I am not aware of their existence if they do and promised to ask for some insight. He's hoping to play a focus caster wizard/monk AC druid.

Arcane Heirophant (Races of the Wild) is specifically designed for Arcane spellcaster/Druid progression and can be used alongside Mystic Theurge.

I'll mention True Necromancer and Yathrinshee both as classes that progress two spellcasting classes at once, but they're both so poor at it that they only technically count.

Hadn't heard of the AH or Yath classes, but I did remember hearing about True Necro. After looking at it quickly, it seems like it's not too terrible, as the progression seems about the same as Ultimate Magus, but the prereqs seem a little high.

Thanks for the info.

if you're open to homebrew prCs then you could take a look at the Mystic Demiurge... it's pretty nice for dual-casters

I'm indifferent, but the DM forbids it.

Enlightened Fist is an arcane caster/monk PrC. Sacred Fist is a divine caster/monk PrC. Monk/arcane/druid seems like a bit much...

Yeah... I would agree... :huh Are you referring to the part where I said monk AC druid? That's an ACF.

Didn't we have a handbook for Theurgy around here somewhere? I can't find it any more, but I could have sworn I used it on an old character...

There's also the Mind Mage (arc / psi), Cerebremancer (arc / psi), Divine Mind (possibly? Sounds wrong now that I type it) (div / psi), and probably some more.

Magic of Incarnum also has some similar options: Saphire Hierarch and Soulcaster. Tome of magic also includes Anima mage.
so an Elf, a Dwarf and Treant walk into a bar...

2 Divine Mind postings on a board at the same time = unbelievable.
(but not-not!-not dual casting)

Erudite Spell To Power, effectively is a dual caster all by itself.

Monastic Servant Of Auppenser, adds a Discipline to a Divine caster, though Telepathy is nerfed; technically 3rd party like BRC's Hyperconscious stuff.

Ruby Disciple adds Telepathy to a Divine Caster, psi version not as good, and it's 3.0e.

Tashalatora or Carmindine feats, stick Monk onto a Psi-"wizard".

Fochlucan Lyrist prc, is a tight build, doesn't do monk well.
