[E6]The Divine Zealot
« on: February 03, 2015, 03:38:46 PM »
Super simple character I'm building because I suddenly feel inspired by fun finds and need an E6 character on hand for random games.

Ghaele(SS monster class)5/Crusader 1

First 5 levels getting full casting, full base attack bonus, all good saves, and 8 + int skill points.

My plan is to sink my WBL into a constant item of Divine Sacrifice and become Tyrael, supporting the mortals and smiting everything.

DM has allowed my to take the crusader level in spite of the creature classes not normally allowing it, in lieu of a capstone ability.

I'm really digging the "burn HP for damage, then heal it back up again immediately" concept. Any other tricks that fit into E6 that I should consider?

Crusader?  Or warblade?  And it looks like you'd be able to use Stone Power to some effect if you really wanted for that Divine Sacrifice spell.

-10 attack, -10HP, +5d6 damage?

Alright, add:
• lady's gambit (6hp for +3 to attack and damage)
• Masochism (+1 to a bunch of things, including attack, per 10 taken, until the next turn) +1 attack :-/
• Reckless Attack (May subtract up to BAB from AC and add that value to damage instead. x2 with two-handed weapons.) -6 AC, +12 Damage
• Unerring Strike (Reverse Power Attack) -6 damage, +6 attack

Now we have +0 attack, -16 HP, -6 AC, +(5d6+9) damage, with only 4 more damage taken to get a +1 attack.

It doesn't work.

Monster classes force you to take all the levels before you can take levels in anything else.
"There is happiness for those who accept their fate, there is glory for those that defy it."

"Now that everyone's so happy, this is probably a good time to tell you I ate your parents."

Unerring Strike is Kingdoms of Kalamar, isn't it?  Would definitely be useful so Arcane Duelist isn't needed for its Dextrous Attack in certain builds.

And Amechra is correct.  Savage Species page 27 at the bottom left says "A monster character using these rules may not multiclass until it completes the full progression in its monster class. This rule keeps characters from gaining the benefits of a monster’s type and then quickly switching to a standard class."

Since the full ghaele class is 20 levels long...  Yeah, gonna need DM permission to switch out of the class.

Maybe I can get early exit as my capstone ability.

EDIT: Maybe the alternate form. That's a very nice capstone.

EDIT2: Checked with the DM, he says Multiclassing out in lieu of a capstone is fine.
