LYRICIST

Lyricists are spellcasters who have mastered the art of weaving spells through song.

MAKING A LYRICIST
Lyricists have the following game statistics..
Abilities: Charisma determines how powerful a spell a lyricist can cast, how many spells she can cast per day, and how hard those spells are to resist. Charisma, Dexterity, and Intelligence are important for many of the lyricist’s class skills.
Alignment: Any non-lawful.
Starting Gold: 2d4x10(50 gp)
Hit Dice: d4

Class Skills
The lyricist's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are....
Balance (Dex), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Decipher Script (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Gather Information (Cha), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Knowledge(Arcana) (Int), Knowledge(History) (Int), Knowledge(Local) (Int), Knowledge(Nature) (Int)Knowledge(Religion) (Int), Listen (Wis), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Speak Language, Spellcraft (Int), Spot (Wis), Tumble (Dex), Use Magic Device (Cha)
Skill Points at 1st Level: (2 + int)x4
Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 2 + int

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: Lyricists are proficient with all simple weapons, but not with any type of armor or shield. Armor of any type interferes with a lyricist's movements, which can cause her spells with somatic components to fail.

Spells: A lyricist casts arcane spells, which are drawn from the bard spell list. A lyricist must choose and prepare her spells ahead of time. Every lyricist spell has a verbal component (singing, reciting, or music).
To learn, prepare, or cast a spell, the lyricist must have an Charisma score equal to at least 10 + the spell level. The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a lyricist's spell is 10 + the spell level + the lyricist's Charisma modifier.
Like other spellcasters, a lyricist can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day.
Her base daily spell allotment is given in the Advancement table below. In addition, she receives bonus spells per day if she has a high Charisma score.
Unlike a bard or sorcerer, a lyricist may know any number of spells. She must choose and prepare her spells ahead of time by getting a good night's sleep and spending 1 hour studying her songbook. While studying, the lyricist decides which spells to prepare.

Scribe Scroll: At 1st level, a lyricist gains Scribe Scroll as a bonus feat.

Songbook: A lyricist must study her songbook each day to prepare her spells. She cannot prepare any spell not recorded in her songbook, except for read magic, which all lyricist can prepare from memory.
A lyricist begins play with a songbook containing all 0-level lyricist spells plus three 1st-level lyricist spells of your choice. For each point of Charisma bonus the lyricist has, the songbook holds one additional 1st-level lyricist spell of your choice. At each new lyricist level, she gains one new lyricist spell of any spell level that she can cast (based on her new lyricist level) for her songbook. At any time, a lyricist can also add spells found in other lyricists' songbooks to her own.
A lyricist may add any 1st through 5th-level spells from other arcane spellcasting classes, except for spells belonging to the schools of Necromancy, Conjuration, and Evocation, to her songbook as a spell one level higher than normal. Thus a lyricist who wishes to add the 3rd-level spell Power Word Deafen to her songbook would add it as a new 4th-level spell.

Bardic Music: As the standard bard ability of the same name. A character’s lyricist levels and bard levels (or levels in another class with the same ability) stack for the purpose of using bardic music.

Spontaneous Enchanting: Starting at 5th level, lyricists can “lose” a prepared arcane spell in order to cast any arcane enchantment spell that is in her songbook. This works just as a cleric’s spontaneous casting class feature, except that any spell cast in this manor has it's casting time increased by 1 step. Thus a spell with a casting time of 1 standard action will require a full round to cast spontaneously.

EX-LYRICIST
A lyricist who becomes lawful in alignment cannot progress in levels as a lyricist, though she retains all her lyricist abilities.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies:Spellsong chanters gain no proficiency in any weapons or armor.

Bardic Music: Spellsong chanters continue to increase their skill in creating magical effects thorough song and poetics. A character’s spellsong chanter levels and bard levels (or levels in another class with the same ability) stack for the purpose of using bardic music.

Spellcasting: At each level, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in an arcane spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one arcane spellcasting class before becoming an spellsong chanter, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Cooperative Chant (Su): At 2nd level, a spellsong chanter gains the ability to apply any metamagic feats she possesses (except Silent Spell, Still Spell, or Quicken Spell) to a spell being cast by a willing allied spellcaster. The caster need not prepare the spell in metamagic form or in a higher-level spell slot; the spellsong chanter simply modifies the spell during the casting. Using this ability is a full round action that provokes an attack of opportunity, just like casting a spell, though the spellsong chanter can use the Concentration skill with this ability as though she were casting defensively. The spellsong chanter must ready an action to use cooperative metamagic when her ally begins casting and must be within 30ft. of the caster. The spellsong chanter must make a Perform check DC 15 + [4 × total spell level modifier] to succeed. For example, if a spellsong chanter applies the Maximize Spell feat to an ally's chain lightning spell the DC is 15 + (4 × 3) = 27. If she applies the same feat and Empower spell to an ally's chain lightning spell the Spellcraft DC is 35. A spellsong chanter can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Cha modifier.

Aria (Su): At 2nd level a spellsong chanter may choose to cast any of her spells with a duration of concentration as an Aria by making a perform skill check DC 10+spell level+[# of rounds since casting the spell]. This check is a free action and must be performed at the start of each round the spellsong chanter wishes to maintain the spell effect. If the spellsong chanter fails her perform check to maintain an aria the spell ends immediately. A spell with a duration of concentration + x rounds does not continue for the additional rounds if the skill check fails, however an aria that is willingly ended will persist for those additional rounds.
A spellsong chanter may not use her Chanting or Spellsong abilities while performing an aria, nor can she begin a second aria. However, she may cast spells or perform any other action she would normally.

Metamagic Chant (Su):At 3rd level, a spellsong chanter can attempt to apply a metamagic feat she possesses to a persistent spell effect that is already in place. For example, she could use Extend Spell to extend the duration of a wall of force or Maximize Spell to maximize the damage dealt by a cloudkill. To use this ability, the spellsong chanter must be within 30ft of the spell effect and make a successful Perform check DC 15 + [4 × total spell level modifier] to succeed.
For example, applying the Extend Spell feat to a wall of fire has a DC of 15 + (4 × 1) = 19.
A spellsong chanter can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Cha modifier. Using this ability is a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity.

Refrain (Su): At 3rd level a spellsong chanter learns to perform a refrain as a swift action, and may be performed during an aria, providing one of the following effects:
Echoing Refrain - At 3rd level a spellsong chanter can use Echoing Refrain making it impossible to cast defensively for 1 round (Will Save DC: 15+Spellsong Chanter Level+ her Cha modifier). To use this ability the spellsong chanter must succeed on a perform skill check DC 20. The will save to resist this ability is increased by +1 for every 5 points over the DC she succeeds by.
Healing Refrain - At 4th level a spellsong chanter may perform a Healing Refrain restoring up to 10 x (Spellsong Chanter Level+ her Cha modifier) per day
Resonate Refrain - At 5th Level a spellsong chanter may provide her allies with a +5 Morale bonus to attack, damage, saves and AC a number of times per day equal to 3+ her Cha modifier.
Metamagic Refrain - At 5th level a spellsong chanter can apply one metamagic effect to any active spell. To use this ability a spellsong chanter must succeed on a perform skill check DC 18 + [3 × modified spell level]

Echo (Su): At 5th level a spellsong chanter can cause their Refrains to resonate and echo carrying their effects over for an additional round. Additionally, a spellsong chanter may now choose to use her Metamagic Chant to apply metamagic effects to any spell she casts in the following round, however she may only do so if she chooses not to apply it to an existing spell effect on the round in which she uses the ability.

Spellsong (Ex): After a spellsong chanter reaches 5th level, the duration of any enchantment or illusion spell she casts or any spell-like ability from the enchantment or illusion schools that she uses is doubled, as if the Extend Spell feat had been applied to it. The levels and casting times of these spells and spelllike abilities don't change, however. This ability stacks with the effect of the Extend Spell feat, which still changes the spell's effective level. Additionally the save DC for any enchantment or illusion spell she casts is increased by +5.
