Features:Girallon Body: The Girallon loses all other racial bonuses and gains Magical Beast traits (basicaly dark vision 60 feet plus low-light vision). Girallons are medium sized magical beasts with a base speed of 40 feet, a climb speed equal to its base speed and four Claw attacks dealing 1d3+Str mod damage each. In addition it has a natural armor bonus equal to its Con mod.
Ability Score Increase: The Girallon gains +2 Str, +2 Dex and -2 Cha at first level, then +1 Str and +1 Dex at every other level, for a total of +7 Str, +7 Dex and -2 Cha at 6th level.
Scent: At 2nd level the Girallon gains the Scent ability.
Bite: At 2nd level the Girallon gains a Bite secondary attack dealing 1d6+1/2 Str mod damage.
Rend: At 3rd level if the Girallon hits a single target with two or more Claw attacks in the same turn, it latches onto the opponent’s body and tears the flesh. This attack automatically deals extra damage equal to twice claw damage plus 1,5 Str mod.
Sticks and Stones: At 3rd level the Girallon can pick up random nearby debris from the ground and swiftly throw it with a range increment of 5 feet per HD, dealing 1d2 bludgeoning damage plus Str mod (for a medium sized Girallon). The Girallon can make four Sticks and Stones attacks as a fullround action, two as a Standard action, or one as a swift action, but cannot combine those in the same round. Flying creatures hit by Sticks and Stones drop towards the ground 10 feet per point of Str bonus. If the Girallon's Claws have any magic enhancement bonus that could apply to ranged weapons, apply it to Sticks and Stones. If all Girallon levels were taken, it can use Sticks and Stones through any bad weather conditions, including magic ones such as Wall of Air by taking a -4 penalty on the attack roll that overlaps any penalties/immunities to thrown weapons in such conditions.
Growth: At 4th level the Girallon grows a size category, gaining +1 Natural Armor. In addition it no longer takes a size penalty on hide checks Stealth bonus.
Kidnap: A solitary girallon usually conceals itself in the branches of a tree or under a pile of leaves and brush, with only its nose showing. When it spots or scents prey, it charges to the attack. A girallon picks up prey that is small enough to carry and withdraws, often vanishing into the trees before the victim’s companions can do anything to retaliate. At 5th level as a fullround action the Girallon can move up to twice its base speed whitout provoking attacks of opportunity, at any point attempting a grapple against any creature inside its melee reach path without provoking attacks of opportunity, and carrying the victim with it without slowing down if the Girallon succeeds on the grapple checks. At the end of the movement the Girallon can attempt a Hide and Move Silently check as free actions provided it is benefiting from Cover and/or Concealment. If the Girallon has 8 HD or more, it ignores Freedom of Movement effects on its victims when grappling and also imposes a Dimensional Lock effect on them under such conditions.
Tear Apart: Against larger foes, a girallon seeks to tear a single opponent to bits as quickly as it can. At 6th level the Girallon can attack with its four Claws as a standard action. Whenever the Girallon is allowed an Aoo, it may make two claw attacks. Once per minute the Girallon may attack with all four Claws as a move action.
Been some time. Let's see if I can work that request list a bit more. Another core monster to warm up.
The original Girallon seems to have been a spur of the moment, only being published in 3rd edition. Big gorilla with four arms, scent, rend, go. It kinda became the iconic quadruple claw monster and a bunch of stuff on other 3rd edition books mentions it.
Anyway 6 level, most were filled right away, then added a ranged attack, the Kidnap based on the fluff text and the capstone or tearing up stuff in melee faster.
So if you want to play a tetra claw giant ape, the Girallon's for you!
