Tri-class Gestalt
« on: April 11, 2016, 05:53:23 AM »
I had this odd idea for a 3-class gestalt system... it's probably just my sleep deprived mind making me think it's a good idea, but I figured I'd post it anyway...

Unlike normal Gestalt rules this system allows for characters to level in 3 classes simulltaneously. All normal gestalt rules apply as normal, except with the following additional rules added in.

  • From level 1 to 5 you may only level in 2 classes
  • One of your first 2 class choices is locked in for full 20 level class advancement. One the decision is made it may not be changed.
  • Starting at level 5 you may use your 3rd gestalt class to advance in any prestige class that you qualify for

What, exactly, would the idea accomplish?
What problem does it address?

Can you give a character example? (You don't have to)

So basically its normal Gestalt, except that at levels 6+ you can grab a "free" PrC level, and one of your "tracks" can't multiclass?

Does this mean that the following would be a legit character under your system?

1. Wizard//Rogue
2. Wizard//Rogue
3. Wizard//Rogue
4. Wizard//Rogue
5. Wizard//Rogue
6. Wizard//Assassin//Arcane Trickster

Or are we still stuck with one PrC per level?
"There is happiness for those who accept their fate, there is glory for those that defy it."

"Now that everyone's so happy, this is probably a good time to tell you I ate your parents."

I think either or could be acceptable... depending on just how high power you want your gestalt game to be... but I'd lean towards one prC per level honestly...
