Regarding Low Con and Melee.

True or False. If you have less then a 14 to con you shouldn't really be in melee. If not then how do characters like rouges handle being in melee especially at lower levels?

The wizard is the best melee in the game even when they dump Con.  :cool

Rogues survive by everything at low level having no HP, just like they do. Basically, win initiative with high Dex and/or wait for the fighter to engage before ducking in for the backstabs. *shrugs*

HP has surprisingly little to do with melee survival rates.

At first level, even the fighter can get 1 hit KO'd... and it's not unlikely enough to discount. Things get a bit better with level, of course, but your HP should be your last line of defense, behind such strategies as "not being seen", "not being touched", and "not being in combat in the first place".

Expanding on this, HP has one purpose in any serious combat: Keeping you alive if everything else fails long enough to get emergency healing or an evacuation.
