[3.5] [Spell] Resist Death (P.E.A.C.H)

Resist Death
Necromancy
Level:                 Clr 1, Drd 2, Pal 1
Components:      V, S, DF
Casting Time:     1 standard action
Range:                Touch
Target:                Living creature touched
Duration:            1 min./level
Saving Throw:    Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
The creature gains a +3 resistance bonus against [Death] effects, with an additional +1 to the bonus for every four caster levels you have (maximum +8 resistance bonus at 20th level).



Should this be limited to Fortitude saves? It probably only matters for Phantasmal Killer/Weird but I might be missing something.

Resist Death, Mass (Nota Bene: This spell provides a SMALLER bonus that its predecessor, because I wanted to squeeze it in at 3rd level for campaign-specific reasons.)
Necromancy
Level:                 Clr 3, Drd 4, Pal 3
Components:      V, S, DF
Casting Time:     1 standard action
Range:                Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target:                One creature/level, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart
Duration:            1 min./level
Saving Throw:    Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
The creature gains a resistance bonus against [Death] effects equal to 2+MINIMUM(4, FLOOR(Caster Level/5) ).

Cool spells!  I think you should make it count for any [Death] save. Is the mass version 2+1/5CL so it goes from 3 to 7 at level 20? I didn't write understand your formula.

I like that because it's a niche resistance it grows a little faster than other spells that gives a similar broader bonus.  It's also an important resistance since death effects kill you.  :D  It will be useful at low and high levels even when people have resistance bonuses from other sources. Like I said chill spells.

Yep. Can I safely write it in a more standard way without people's eyes skipping over it and assuming it is the same as the single-target version? I mean, probably, since I do have that warning next to the name of the Mass version, but I thought I would double-check...

Actually, it is kinda useless to some play styles at any level where throwing around 4th level spells is a low cost. Deathward gives total immunity to everything this boosts saves against (and also negative energy I think?). Anyway, any group using "The Five Minute Work-day" or whatever it is called, would probably consider these "Penny-Wise and Pound-Foolish".
