Eberron Fluff Novel Recommendations?
« on: March 13, 2012, 09:15:40 PM »
I know WotC has had a habit of releasing some shit books (Teeth of Akoum, the Scourge novel, the books featuring the Core Iconic characters), but I've heard some decent talk about the Eberron novels. Has anyone read any of them, and if so do you recommend them?

I am currently reading quite a bit of Eberron novels lately....

The Dragon Below and the Dhakaani Empire trilogies (both by the same author - Don Bassingwaite) are quite good.... except that the end for both felt a little rushed as everything gets resolved, IMO... also, loved his view on Darguun.

Currently reading chapter 7 of Thorn of Breland book 1. And I have to say... this shit is good.

I still have The Blade of the Flame trilogy to read...

I'll look into those trilogies. I know my grandmother would be ecstatic to hear that I would like more books.

"Bound by Iron" Ed Bolme was an interesting tale about PoWs . It was part of the inquisitives series which was all a bunch of new authors and more of a theme than a series.

Parker deWolf's Lanternlight Files. Gritty investigation, not for all readers.

The Dreaming Dark, and the Blade of the Flame trilogies were both pretty interesting - Waggoner is the better writer, but the plot is weaker.  If you like his stuff, his Matt Richter novels are quite good.
