Optimising a melee debuffer.
« on: January 17, 2012, 02:57:06 PM »
My goal is to create an npc that ruins players days with lots of debuffs to pretty much everything.

So far ive been leaning towards, hexblade7/ur-priest5. Was going to snag a pair of high threat weapons like kukri and get spell storing on them and perhaps enervate for more debuffing goodness and i am planning on using the dark companion ACF instead of the hexblades familiar.

My limit right now is a 12th level character.

Any suggestions on feats or alternative builds would be welcome, just keep in mind the objective is a debuffer/buffer and i do need to be able to heal a bit as well.

You ideally want a good reach weapon, Never Outnumbered skill trick, and the Imperious Command feat.  I like combining Intimidating Strike with that, others might not.  Doing a Barbarian build with Instaneous Rage or Ferocity variant Rage and the Intimidating Rage feat is great to add to that, too.

For healing, being a draconic character and getting the draconic vigor aura as a feat means everyone around you gets fast healing constantly, up to half max hp.  I don't even think you need to be draconic, being draconic just increases the fast healing amount above 1.

Here, Draconic Aura.  One of the auras should be Vigor, iirc, which gives the fast healing.

It's of slightly arguable legality, since the feat specifies the auras in the book, and that particular aura isn't in that particular book, but I'm not a fan of that particular hair split.

Here's a debuff build from the old BG forums: http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=723.0

Be a Binder with Zceryll bound and summon lots of annoying critters with debuffs, like the Corruptor of Fate from MMIV.

Intimidating as a move action is nice, but you still need something for a standard action. Hideous Blow (Warlock invocation from CArc) with Practised Spellcaster (if allowed) is nice or you use a good ToB maneuver (dipping one or two levels of warblade is nice for most mundane chars anyway).
