Corrupt spells from BoVD, and their good counterparts from the BoED, are only able to be prepared by "preparation casters" (it specifies that wizards and clerics can, but sorcerers and bards cannot).  Where do Spirit Shaman fall on that spectrum?

I would say they can cast vile/sacred spells, as long as they take that spell as one of their retrieved spells for the day.

Spirit Shamans are still spontaneous casters, so technically they can't cast them.
What do I win?
An awesome-five for mentioning Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.
