Elementalist [3.5]- Work in Progress

Work in progress, needs more class features including a capstone and I intend to include quasi/paraelementals in this somehow... Suggestions are appreciated. It will be templated/tabled properly later, for now I dont want to mess with a table while I am changing the class features around.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Simple and Martial weapons, all types of armor and shields (but not tower shields).

Attunement(Ex): An elementalist is totally in tune with the elemental forces of the universe. At level 1 an elementalist chooses one element; Fire, Water, Earth or Air. She can choose an additional element at levels 5, 9 and 13.

Bind Elemental (Su): Once per encounter  as a swift action an elementalist may choose from one of the elements that she can attune to and draw the mighty powers of the elemental creatures of that plane into her own form. This ability lasts until dismissed, a different element is chosen or the temporary hp granted by Form of the Elements is reduced to 0. Beginning at level 5 and improving at 10 and 15 the elementalist gains additional uses per encounter of this ability. Out of combat this ability may be used at will. 

Form of the Elements (Su): While an element is bound to the elementalist she gains temporary hit points equal to half (rounding up) that of the appropriate elemental creature with the closest CR to her level in Elementalist. For example a level 1 elementalist attuned to fire gains 5 temporary hit points. These hit points refresh at the start of each encounter and whenever she binds a different element.

Slam (Ex): While an element is bound the elementalist may make slam attacks appropriate to an elemental of her current size. This ability improves as the elementalist gains levels, increasing in damage as shown on the table above.

Elemental Resistance (Ex): Beginning at level 2 the elementalist gains resistance to her currently bound element equal to her Elementalist class level. She also suffers some of an elementals weakness and takes additional damage equal to the resistance granted by this ability from attacks of the opposite element.

Fortify (Ex): As the elementalist gains in power her body begins to take the form of the elementals, becoming resistant to critical hits and sneak attack damage. This ability begins at level 4 and grants a 10% resistance to critical hits and sneak attacks and improves at levels 6 and 8 to 25% and 50% respectively.

Elemental Motion (Su): Beginning at level 5 the elementalist may take on the special movement mode of the attuned element at a speed equal to their base land speed. The exception of course is Fire which instead doubles your base land speed. Whist this ability may grant the Earth Glide ability of an earth elemental it does not grant the ability to breathe underground.

Elemental Strikes (Su): Beginning at level 7 the elementalist's attacks become imbued with elemental force whist attuned, she may add 1 point of damage of the appropriate type per elementalist class level to all of her attacks. This ability doubles in power at level 14 to 2 points per class level.

Elemental Mastery (Su): starting at level 8 the elementalist gains either the Air Mastery, Earth Mastery, Water Mastery or Burn abilities of the bound element. You are treated as an elemental of the nearest CR to your class level for this ability rounding up (Elemental Monolith for level 14 and higher). The save DC for the burn ability is 10+ 1/2 Class level+ Con.

Elemental Body (Ex): At level 10 the substance of the elementalist's body changes completely, becoming fluid and changeable. Her type changes to Elemental but she may still be resurrected normally.
Masters attunement (Su): Starting at level 11 the elementalist gains the elemental subtype of the attuned element. In addition she is now immune to damage from the bound element.


Alternate Class Feature: Monastic Elementalist
At level 1 an elementalist may choose to exchange her weapon, armor and shield proficiencies for those of a monk. If she does so she gains the monks unarmed strike ability (including its increased damage but not flurry of blows), the Fast Movement ability and a special version of the monk's AC bonus that uses Constitution instead of Wisdom to determine AC.
