Contingent energy resistance

Does the protection offered by the contingent resistance activate quickly enough to protect against the attack that triggered it?

Of course it does... anything that interrupts an action resolves before the interrupted action.

Ah, I wasn't sure because the spell said it grants you protection "if you are dealt damage"
