Gestalt help, yet again!
« on: May 10, 2012, 05:54:13 AM »
So, I have an upcoming campaign where I am playing the son of an old character of mine and I need some help. The DM has a pretty crazy ass rule on races this time and I'm playing a monstrosity of a character. My character has crazy ass stat mods(lowest is +16 to wis) and is always treated as if having outsider HD. So no matter what class I take, I always have 8+ int skills, d8 HD, perfect saves, and good BaB. My character also has nearly unbeatable spell resistance and 30+level natural armor. I cast as a sorc of my HD and I have a mental pinnacle SLA at-will. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the power(I don't template stack very often) and I would like to see suggestions on what you peeps would do with such a character in gestalt.

You have two standard options really. You can either be a regular Sorcerer, so look at debuffs, buffs and crowd control spells. Alternatively, you can go with melee. Seeing how you have perfect BAB and pretty much the best possible chassis in the entire game, you could try to gish it out. So grab spells that boost your melee capabilities and whack the crap out of your opponents.

I was thinking a Binder3/Incarnate2/Midnight Occultist10/legacy champ 5//Factotum8

I positively love the midnight occultist, but I can't find much to support something after factotum. Theurges and PrCs are allowed on both sides btw.

So homebrew is allowed???  If you want to mesh incarnum with Binder, try the Warpsoul -- and then if you like, instead of Midnight Occultist you could go for Warped Disciple.

And for the other side... my friend, welcome to the Nullblade.

In that case I would still suggest melee. Factotum provides some help with inspiration points, Sorcerer casting does wonders for your defenses and attacks and Binder and Incarnate can be used to similar ends. The extra actions of Factotum also make buffing that much more efficient. Also, given the excellent chassis and setup of the character, you have a chance of being an excellent multithreat character.

Thanks! Base creature is a shaedling, I'm going to see if I can sneak by TWF with shadow gossamer ruby rod o' Asmodeus+wand o' Orcus(Both within weight limits) by the DM for the sake of cool. Any thoughts on what to finish the other side with? I don't typically like to take Factotum past 8 or 11.

You might be able to do Trapsmith then Swiftblade on the Factotum side if you can get the prereq feats.

He already casts as a Sorcerer of his HD. He can get Haste from there. Swiftblade is an excellent idea though.
