Bard-based gish builds?

Considering there are are relatively trivial (at high level) ways of getting all-day music, there's no need to go RKV for that.  The inherent quicken awesomeness of RKV, on the other hand, is a reason to go RKV.

Such as?  I can't recall any from the Bard's handbook.

Metamagic Song + Persist + Lingering Chorus.  It only gets you 1, though.

Thanks.  I sort of assumed they would involve Persist Spell, which is kind of a big commitment to pull off.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree that the investment needed for this would qualify as "non-trivial" in most games.

As far as RKV is concerned, Bard/Crusader/Ur Priest/RKV is a fun gish.  It doesn't really keep advancing as a bard though.

That's what I was going to say.  The Bard there isn't doing any work.

Don't forget Words of Creation (BoED) to double your Inspire Courage bonus, and/or a Vest of Legends [the bard version of the Monk's Belt] (MIC) to push your effective bard level higher.  Any legal combination of Bard, Swiftblade, Sublime Chord, and Abjurant Champion would probably work just fine for what you're looking for.

I thought there were some listed in the bard's handbook.  I see now that there aren't.  I also though that there was an easier way than Lingering Chorus to do it.. meh.  I can't be fucked looking through 15 books for the spell i'm thinking of.  You can just subsonically strum your lute until combat starts.

Right, because maintaining concentration on a music for half a day while waiting for combat is so practical when you have other things to do, like say, negotiate with a Warlord, help feed a city under siege, etc, etc.

Just go with the Use Activated Lute of Harmonize.
