Sorc/Wiz casting without Sorc or Wiz
« on: June 11, 2012, 08:35:06 PM »
I'm looking for a casting class that gives access to the sorcerer/wizard spell list other than sorcerer or wizard. If there's a prestige class like an arcane Ur-Priest, that would work too. Chameleon doesn't really work, since I'm trying to incorporate this into a gish build (and unless I've been misinformed, Chameleon casting can't be advanced with PrCs, which sucks for a gish).
I also have a matching "Glorious Signature," but image size rules prevent me from posting it here. You'll just have to use your imagination.

Sublime Chord is about the only option if you want 9th level spells. Nar Demonbinder gets up to 8th, but not from the entire Sorc/Wiz list.
I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.

The white dragonspawn template (Dragonlance Campaign Setting) gives you casting as a first-level sorcerer for +1 LA.  Dragon devotee (Races of the Dragon) gives you one effective level of sorcerer casting at third level, even if you had no sorcerer casting before.

Beholder mage (Lords of Madness, p42) would work, except you'd have to be a beholder.

Dragon magazine has several classes that are variants of the wizard base class

There's a regional feat in Player's Guide to Faƫrun that grants basic casting of your choice of one or the other

Arguably, Planar Shepherd can grant spellcasting from outsider wildshape forms.

And there are quite a few ways to convert arcane spells to divines, simplest being that the type (arcane/divine) of scroll is decided based on the crafter, but the spell can be cast by another caster.

Download  SSIIIptA.pdf 1.01 It's a complete list of all spells for all spellcasting classes that are official WotC approved. It isn't the spells themselves, just the list.
If you have questions about 3.5 D&D, you might want to look at the:
Encyclopedia Vinculum Draconis
