Skill tricks & familiars
« on: October 13, 2023, 09:11:16 PM »
Familiars get ranks in skills equal to its master's. So if the master buys a skill trick, am I correct in assuming the familiar also gets that skill trick?

Quote
Skills: For each skill in which either the master or the familiar has
ranks, use either the normal skill ranks for an animal of that type or the
master’s skill ranks, whichever are better. In either case, the familiar uses
its own ability modifiers. Regardless of a familiar’s total skill modifiers,
some skills (such as Craft) may remain beyond the familiar’s ability to
use.

No? Unless there's something in skill trick description saying that it counts as ranks in a skill, it wouldn't be transferred to the familiar. The section you quoted only lets skill ranks transfer over to the familiar.

I reread the skill tricks section on the srd. It does always call it skill points and not ranks. I just always considered it as having 2 ranks in the skill trick. And it's been a while since I've had a familiar. My weasel can live without it. Thanks for the reply.
