Frost Giant Spiritspeaker's SLA list?
« on: October 26, 2012, 12:59:55 PM »
The frost giant spiritspeaker from Frostburn gets some racial SLA's.  The list has one that makes NO sense whatsoever, and it was never dealt with in the errata.

Quote
Spell-Like Abilities: At will—detect magic, door (DC 15), rage; 3/day—blindness/deafness (DC 16), cure serious wounds, fear (DC 17), empowered ice storm; 1/day—dispel magic, invisibility purge, prayer, wall of stone. Caster level 14th.

The spiritspeaker has a Charisma of 17, so all DC's should be 13+spell level (though it also has the Spell Focus (Necromancy) feat, which makes no sense, since it doesn't have spells, and the feat doesn't apply to SLA's).

All that tells me that the "Door" spell should be a 2nd level spell.

Anyone have any idea what that spell is supposed to be?

Suggestion on a feat to replace Spell Focus (Necro) with?

well, not a perfect match, but detect secret doors? off by one, but only thing in the srd that is close.

for the feat, what about empower spell like ability?

He's already got Empower SLA (Ice Storm).  Nothing else he has is really damage-dealing though.  I suppose an empowered Cure Serious wouldn't be terrible, though it wouldn't really have an effect in combat very often.
