SLA's can be used to craft magic items?
« on: December 28, 2012, 03:13:20 PM »
Looking over the Gray Slaad in the MM you see that its 9th level feat is listed as "item creation feat (any one)."

Presumably it is meeting the caster level prerequisite with the CL of its SLA's.  I would also assume that it can use those SLA's as the prerequisite spells for making items, yes?  Suppose it has Craft Wand; it can make wands of Lightning Bolt, unassisted?

Ahh, that's about as clear a direct support
for using SLA's to make items, as possible.
Hello Staff Of Wish and friends.

iirc - though I have no link/source - they didn't
like all that, and printed a counter at some point.
