-The character repents and receives an Attonment spell. He must replace Forbidden School for another feat and any known Forbidden Maneuvers/stances for normal maneuvers/stances of the “parent” school. This is a one time deal. Should she fall on the forbidden path again, no attonment spell can save her now.

What is a non-spellcaster going to do with a spell? @_@

Someone casts it on them and they're attoned.

How do forbidden schools interact with classes that can take maneuvers from any school, like your Zodar?

It can learn those maneuvers from any school it wishes, as long as it fulfills all other prerequisites of that maneuver/school, but the stances must be of the same school of the other maneuvers it knows.

If well-written, or at least written like that, then it needs the Forbidden School feat.

If it says 'any school' then it means 'any school' but the DM will probably hit you with a book.

I ask because the feat description doesn't say it's mandatory. Ancient Temple's feat tax says you must have it to learn the maneuvers. So does Chinese Star's. This one provides a way to learn the maneuvers but doesn't restrict you from learning them otherwise (a bit weird for "forbidden" schools, honestly.)

In fact, as written, the Tohou classes that give you "one additional school of your choice" could pick forbidden schools.

You know, I was pretty sure I had already added such an exclusivity clause.

But I now see that I didn't so, edited one in. Thank a lot for pointing it out!

Some overhaul after quite a bit of discussion and experience with Forbidden schools.

-Forbidden Cost is now standardized, each Forbidden school inflicts Forbidden Price  equal to the maneuver/stance's level, penalties are measured based on your current Forbidden Price, depending on its Forbidden Cost.
-Sky Ruin, Corpse Voyage and Marvelous Mt. Ooe no longer inflict penalties on saves. Instead you lose HP when you need to roll one of those saves, more if you actually fail.
