Best ways to fill a Blessed Prayer Book for an Archivist?
« on: February 13, 2013, 10:20:03 PM »
I'm currently assembling a resource for Archivists- basically, pre-filled spell books that should be able to cover whatever an Archivist could possibly need. If a campaign is starting after the adventurers have been around awhile, it's quite conceivable that an adventuring Archivist has found these spells in his past- perhaps through copying from another Archivist's prayerbook to negate the costs of having to scribe all of these as scrolls. I've got two lists, one for low to mid levels and the other for high levels: in a campaign that shouldn't last awhile one could buy just the book, and in a higher level campaign, one could buy the book and shard.

I'm looking for advice on ways to fill out the remaining pages.

SPELL LEVELS 1-6: BLESSED BOOK

SPELL LEVELS 7-9: AUREON'S SPELLSHARD

How far out do you want to go?

I mean, PsyRef looping can get whatever you want.
There are various ways of getting Arcane over to
Divine, and also get Psi over.  Etc ...
Your codpiece is a mimic.

For now, assume that only those spells that can be found on divine casting lists are allowed. Thus, no hexer, divine magician, alternative source spell, etc.

I'll edit this information into the main post to make it more clear.

I realize you have read Mooncrows archivist guide, but I personally really like the idea of winged watcher. (Lvl 1 druid spell, turn into a bird 1 round/level.)
If this is what a high level archivist want to keep close, I see why it's not mentioned. But if this is for an archivists progression, early level flight (short as it may be) is probably not so bad.

I've got Winged Watcher listed already- it can be found about halfway through the first level spells at the end of the Druid section of spells

Reading through it yet again, I see you do. And that was pretty much what I found to be missing.

Anyone have other suggestions? I'm still pretty far from my 1,000 page mark.

I seem to be continually finding more spells to add, I've run up to 1133 pages in the Blessed Book. Combined with the "Free" spells, that's 1,354 total pages so far- pretty close to a Blessed Book / Aureon's Spellshard combination, actually (only about 150 pages short).

I'm considering shifting this idea to the best 1,500 spell levels for archivists- in which case there's room for a few more spells. Anyone have ideas on how those would be filled?
