Let's Stack Templates!
« on: December 14, 2011, 09:59:20 PM »
A Half-Red Dragon Wendigo Gheden Spellweaver is immune to physical damage, can go Incorporeal at will, and casts as a Sorcerer of its HD.

Its CR? 14.

What other monstrosities can you come up with? I myself am partial to Paragon Spell-Stitched Bone Creature Spellwarped Magebred Cats, especially when summoned through Gate; I hope you like having 68 death kitties on your beck and call, without any real effort on your part, at level 17; sure, they have sucky HP... that's if the enemy can hit them. And their Wisdom is high enough for some pretty decent SLAs... (Mmmm... 68 different 6th level SLAs...)

You should totally add templates to a choker. With Quickness you can go crazy. But you do need to change it's type since Aberration does suck.

I've always liked the Lernaean Multiheaded* Lumi**. You can only kill it (via damage) by severing its heads...

Note that Lumi can never have their heads severed.  You can actually only kill it with a disintegrate spell.

The latest templates guide has all those LA+1s sitting there.

Start with an LA+1 race whatever.
Gain 3 levels of Class whatever, plus 500 exp.
Put the 500 exp into a Thought Bottle*.
* just ignore how this part may have happened.

Buy-off LA
restore exp from TB
gain new LA+1 acquirable template
repeat
Profit !!

All those minor bloodlines are worth a +2 to every skill ...  :rolleyes
idk what this looks like in final form.
Your codpiece is a mimic.

Technically they're not immune to decapitation wholesale, just from vorpal weapons.  :sofa

Which, as far as I am aware, is the only RAW way to decapitate someone/-thing

It may be. But if someone else finds another, that's fair game.

Well the entry for the Lernean template indicates it gives creatures abilities similar to a hydra.  The entry then indicates the only way to slay it is to sever its heads.  So it isn't exactly a huge leap to just look at the hydra entry and see...
Quote from: Hydra
To sever a head, an opponent must make a successful sunder attempt with a slashing weapon. (The player should declare where the attack is aimed before making the attack roll.) Making a sunder attempt provokes an attack of opportunity unless the foe has the Improved Sunder feat. An opponent can strike at a hydra’s heads from any position in which he could strike at the hydra itself, because the hydra’s head writhe and whip about in combat. An opponent can ready an action to attempt to sunder a hydra’s head when the creature bites at him. Each of a hydra’s heads has hit points equal to the creature’s full normal hit point total, divided by its original number of heads. Losing a head deals damage to the body equal to half the head’s full normal hit points.
So there you go, a RAW entry for severing a hydra-like creature's heads.
