Spring Attack and AoO's
« on: June 21, 2013, 11:26:16 AM »
Simple question: does the wording of Spring Attack mean that you can move through a threatened area, attack, and get out without provoking an AoO? I think it does but, uh, kind of forgotten whether it just helps with getting out again.  :blush

Yes, that is half the purpose of the feat.  Allow you to attack in the middle of the move, and prevent the AoO's.

Quote
When using the attack action with a melee weapon, you can move both before and after the attack, provided that your total distance moved is not greater than your speed. Moving in this way does not provoke an attack of opportunity from the defender you attack, though it might provoke attacks of opportunity from other creatures, if appropriate.

Yes, of course only if you attempt an attack roll against the creature threatening the area you move through.
Everyone else can still make AoO normally :(
