Disease Optimization
« on: August 05, 2013, 12:20:11 AM »
I have a creature with a diseased bite, nifty!  I wanted to optimize use of it, but it occurs to me that, unlike poison, there's not much to doing anything with disease.  Is there any options for me to boost it here, with higher saves or extra effects or something?
Mudada.

Is the disease a supernatural ability, or just a normal disease?  If the former, Ability Focus should work, and it would probably have a DC based on your Con mod (like a poison) since it's innate to you.

You could go the opposite route, and try to tank their saves rather than boost your DCs.  Hexblade, Paladin of Tyranny, Binder (Focalor), etc.

I had a character who was a Cleric with the Pestilence domain a while back, who would infect himself with as many diseases as possible and then just go hug people he wanted to assassinate.  I looked, but couldn't find anything to boost the save DCs.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

Its normal, but fast acting like contagion.  It is a Con based save.  My Con is pretty good but not my main focus.

Being a caster, debuffing is open to me, so I will consider that.

Pity on the last of DC buffers and options.

BoVD has:
Cancer Mage PrC ... and don't use the borkt version.
Festering Anger has been abused before.
The one that gives you Nat Armor but Dex
penalty, could be abused like FA but hasn't.
Chaos Warp (? same section) can get a bunch
of the effects going.  I forget how though.

Poison that lowers their fort save? Con Drain poison?

Something like Doomspeak? -10 to saves.
