So I'm currently playing in a campaign where my character is an Eldritch Theurge (Warlock 3 / Sorcerer 3 / Mindbender 1 / Theurge 4) focusing on control spells rather than straight damage. I know this isn't a Theurge's strong point, they're meant more to be blasters than anything, but I've wanted to try it out for a while now, see if it's actually effective or not.
My question is, have any of you have tried this before and/or know of some control spells/invocations that would work really well when paired together using spellblast, eldritch spellweave or greatreach blast?
Combos I've found to be effective so far:
Spellblast:
- Eldritch blast with an attached Color Spray to stun a cluster of foes up to 60' away (90' with Horizon Goggles).
- Attaching Web to an eldtritch blast to deal damage while putting an enemy right in the center of the spell.
Eldritch Spellweave:
- Translocation Trick with the Bewitching Blast essence attached to confuse the target while swapping places with them.
- Vitriolic Blast essence attached to a variety of 6th+ level target spells to nullify spell resistance (Eyebite, Flesh to Stone, Ray of Entropy, etc.)
Greatreach Blast:
- Make a ranged debuff out of spells like Bestow Curse or Ghoul Touch added to an eldritch blast.
- Buff spells such as Polymorph, Displacement or Darconic Might attached and aimed at an ally to strengthen them at range.
- Daylight attached and creating a powerful light source at a distance rather than relying on someone to, say, throw a rock out that far.
- Ranged Otto's Irresistable Dance (you know you want to)
