In my continuing quest to build a classic Wizard build for each of the specialties, I'm tackling one of the more difficult specialists: The Enchanter. Even the Evoker has more literature if you want to optimize one.
Any given PrC used must have good reason to be considered an Enchanter oriented one. ex: IotSV is perfectly suited for an Abjurer, Shadowcraft Mage for an Illusionist. Some are general enough to fit anyway, eg. Master Specialist. Strong is good, just keep the fit right.
Allowed Books: Anything WotC, the closer to Core, the better. Dragon and 3rd party allowable, but not preferred.
Kindly don't give me Psion/Thrallherd. I know it's good.
Current build stub: Wizard3-5/Master Spec4/Mindbender1/X10-12 -- MS minor school esoterica is quite nice for an enchanter, the others are rather weak. MA opens up Archmage nicely, if anyone can think of a solid reason to pick it up. Mindbender is a rather obvious "nice fit", but isn't worth anything more than a 1 level dip.
As an aside, I know that limiting PrC's to certain specialists is a bit of a straight jacket. Incantatrix is most fitting for an Abjurer based on fluff, but makes a Transmuter or Conjurer into an absolute behemoth. I'm doing the limiting anyway, as I want these 8(ish) builds to be relatively different.
