Unofficially I have not played D&D in some 7 years since I moved away from my friends. I was the only one who min/maxed, but I did it for good, mostly because half the party would kill themselves through their self-diplomacy checks. Still, despite my natural ability to play Bards and Rogues best, my favourite character was the completely average in every way colonel sniper, and the Barbarian. Not having to help my friends in diplomacy checks is very appealing. Speaking in third person Thog style because why not, is more fun!
I shall meet up and one-shot with them again.
