help with petrified status

Im wondering if one can attack a petrified creature? to be honest I´m not sure if one can just attack like if it was a stone wall or so..

Yes, you can attack it.

It is an object, and would be like attacking a statue.  Hardness 8, with whatever amount of hp is appropriate for a stone object of its size, and subject to things which affect stone like Soften Earth and Stone.
