PF monk weapons
« on: August 22, 2014, 04:20:26 AM »
Are there more monk weapons than just in the SRD monk class ability?

any way to make another weapon into a monk weapon, using PF only?

any ways to get Multiweapon Fighting w/o multiple arms?

is there anywhere that says what body parts are used for an unarmed strike? Like fist only or kicks and head butts r something

Pain in the ass, but Crusader's Flurry makes a weapon into a monk weapon, with the caveat of pretty much needing a Cleric dip and a deity with that favored weapon.

No idea about Multiweapon Fighting, but a monk's Unarmed Strike class feature gives them the option of fists, elbows, knees, and feet.

Saw that blurb in Cool PF things about the scary combine a bunch of attacks thing. Was trying to see what ugliness I can get to work in PFS for Sunday.

this

found a way to get Improved Multiweapon Fighting as a bonus feat, but can't combine w Master of Many Styles

Not seeing how that gets you Improved Multiweapon Fighting, because Multiweapon Fighting isn't a combat maneuver. Though it was a very good idea, took me a minute to figure out what you meant.

I can see a very painful build from a Master of Many Styles Monk 2 / Cleric of Eligos or Geon 1 / Cavalier 3+ with Pummeling Style, Pummeling Charge, and Spirited Charge. 3x damage on a charging full-attack, combined with Pummeling Style for the possibility to crit.

A couple of the archetypes allow you to flurry with different weapons. Zen Archer flurries with Bows. Of special note (and one of my favorites), Maneuver Master can flurry with any weapon. Ever wanted to flurry with a halberd? It's not the same, but being able to tack on any combat manuever after a full attack isn't to be sneezed at, either.

That, and it mentions choose a body part for magic fang and unarmed strike. Even more of a loophole to unarmed strike people with your ears and dong.

maneuver master can use any weapon that is associated with a special maneuver? That's what I'm reading. Downside, doesn't stack w Many Forms :(

No, he can use any weapon. Sort of. The faq says that Sunder, Disarm, and Trip are the only maneuvers that "normally" use a weapon. It also makes clear that a weapon does not need the special quality to be used - you can make a trip or disarm attempt with a greatsword, if you'd like. Other maneuvers don't usually use a weapon unless some other ability unlocks it (there are rage powers that allow a bull rush on hit, the Mancatcher is a weapon that specifically can be used as a grapple, and Dirty Trick requires GM arbitration to decide how it's being used - though it makes perfect sense to me to use a sword to cut someone's belt and entangle them in dropped trousers)(There are other ways that escape me at the moment, and of course there's rule 0 - convince the GM that a weapon that can hook a sword for a Disarm can also hook clothing for a Drag or Reposition.)

Oh, it's easy to miss in the SRDs online, but don't forget the Eastern Weapons page, there are a few more Monk weapons there that may suit.
